FROM MY ALBUM OF STREET PHOTOGRAPHY IN NY
Sharing the delight !
Summer 2010 was not my 1st visit to NY. Earlier , I passed through the city and had just a glimpse..Had no opportunity to take photos and record the experience. This year, I was there on a vacation during the summer. A period well spent among relatives and friends, in libraries and Museums, upstate greenery and ........... streets,,in spite of the heat.
A city with towering buildings, wide footpaths, great subway system, rivers ans sea-shores,parks and open spaces.......most importantly, a cauldran of people from all corners of the world.
I was armed with a book from a friend of my elder son, titled 'ARTWALK IN NEW YORK' - you can read it too during your next visit there.( http://www.amazon.com/Artwalks-New-York-Delightful-Discoveries/dp/0935576479#reader_0935576479 ) and cameras. I have shared some of my photos in my earlier blogs :

Here are a few more photos from my HDD .
When Westereners visit India, they often publish photos of Sadhus ( ascetics) and pilgrimage. To their view point, these ash-smeared persons with coloured robes ( yet, some are witthout even a loin-cloth ) are people and situations which they find ..... what will be the description of their feeing..... queer ?
I would have liked to have a collection of photos of people I found 'queer'...... those with lots of body-piercing, tattoos on the forearm and coloured hair. Well, taking photographs of such persons would not have been appreciated.......so, did not press my luck.
