Tawnya is a freelance writer who LOVEs movies and televison series! She enjoys family movies and animated movies the most.

When my daughter first asked for the Monster Tail from Rainbow Loom, I didn't understand why she felt she needed to add to her huge Rainbow Loom collection. Before buying the Monster Tail, we had two Rainbow Looms, the metal upgrade kit, a storage organization box, and The Loomatic's Interactive Guide to the Rainbow Loom. However, after a brief explanation, she convinced me she needed this new Rainbow Loom to help her create bracelets with tails easily. Before purchasing this kit, she often struggled with her tailed bracelets and if one band slipped off, broke, or she negotiated pulling the band off incorrectly, she would have to start over. Since she mostly only creates fishtail bracelets and the product had a relatively low price point, I figured I'd give in and let her get it. I figured there was a legitimate reason she wanted to add to her collection and since it keeps her busy and off her electronics, I am happy to accommodate her.

Happily Surprised with the Monster Tail Mini Loom

When the Monster Tail Mini Loom arrived, I was surprised to see how small it was, but immediately recognized how this loom was designed differently from the original Rainbow Loom. For one, it is much smaller and can even be held completely in one hand. Next, the grooves on the mini loom are different than the grooves on the larger loom. My daughter tells me the different grooves allow her to grab the bottom band much easier and that the Monster tail loom makes it easier to create fishtail bracelets, hexafish bracelets, and quadfish bracelets without all the hassle that you can run into when using the traditional loom. Since she has started using the Monster Loom to create tail bracelets, I have noticed her quality has got much better. There aren't as many missed or bubbling rubber bands and the bracelets stay together much better. I haven't played with the Monster Tail loom much, but my husband has. He enjoys the Monster Tail more than the Rainbow Loom because it is easier for him to use than the traditional loom. Whether you are new to the Rainbow Loom craze or just want to add to your Rainbow Loom collection, you will love the Monster Tail and will surely be impressed with the quality of your tailed Rainbow Loom bracelets.
