Vintage Cowgirl Pin Up

Updated on November 7, 2014

Retro Pin Up Art of Cowgirls and Cowgirl Costume Ideas

It's fascinating to see the graphics from the 1930s, 40s, 50s and even the 1960s showing cowgirls as pin up art. These are colorful, playful images that are slightly risque. Most are much less revealing than anything you see in the movies or television now.

If you like these graphics, they are available on t-shirts, mugs, cards and posters on Zazzle. You can even turn yourself into a cowgirl pin up with the sexy costumes available for Halloween and other costume occasions.

Girly artwork from the 1940s and 1950s and even the 1960s seem pretty tame by today's standards. Isn't this one a cutie!

With an open-neck shirt and her skirt hiked up to show off her long legs, any cowboy's eye would gravitate to this pin-up.

When in doubt, there's the little black dress. This is the cowgirl's version of that.

Cowgirls In Art

The pin ups shown on this page are considered retro. If you'd like to see art featuring real old-time cowgirls, I have a page about those as well.

I remember a lot of the old, vintage, cowgirl pinup things. You're right they're pretty tame compared to some of the ads we see today. I like the signs the best :)

I am a big fan of vintage art used on posters and vintage advertising items. Many artists started their careers doing this kind of work. The Coca-Cola collectibles are a great example of vintage art work.

Love those old drawings ... I never saw a real cowgirl that looked like any of those, but hey, that's art for ya! I can see these would make great gifts ... nice job!
