vintage fruit crate labels clip art Apples

Updated on May 1, 2012

I have been collecting images of fruit crate graphics for awhile. I use them to make cross stitch patterns, since the images are so vivid and usually have plain backgrounds, this makes them easier to convert to cross stitch pattern.

Some of these images are very striking and attractive, I see why people collect them as a hobby. This site is not a history of the labels, there are a couple of detailed websites I have listed below that do a very good job of detailing the history of these images, so I will leave it to that author.

This website just collects the images together to make it easier for people to find the labels to use for clip art. As far as I know, all of these images are in the public domain, so you can use them freely on your website or blog.

I'm reorganizing these based on the theme of the advertising; pretty girls, cute kids and animals were common motifs on these labels. I'm adding quite a few new ones also.

The images were pretty much all made in California, but apples were shipped across country from both Washington and California, so the images are from both places.Indians were a popular theme on the labels, as were animals and nature scenes.

The image at right is a rare one from Australia.
