About Vintage Travel Luggage Stickers

Before World War II stickers was used to mark travelers luggage to show where they are headed. As international travel for vacations rapidly declined due to war travel stickers for roads, hotels and popular travel destinations became popular to collect on road trips. Today many buy for vintage travel stickers or replica travel stickers that are similar to those collected during that time period.

During the time period they were used to decorate travel cases, steamer trunk luggage, cars and other travel supplies. Many believe they caught on so fast because they where some of the first self adhesive stickers that was available to the general public. Stickers before that required a special application process.

      I have some childhood-collected travel stickers in a scrapbook, others in a photo album illustrating the journey where the sticker was collected. Not vintage (yet), but they hold lots of great memories. Thanks for sharing.
