I Love My Car!

I love my car. It is a 1991 Buick Regal Custom 3800 sedan as listed on the title. But, on the door it says it was made August of 1990. It was a good used car when I bought it. I had to buy it when my 1994 Oldsmobile Station-wagon died on the mountains up north. I loved the stationwagon too. It was another good used car buy. I like good used cars and here I'll tell you my lifelong story of vehicles.

Haynes Manuals are always Handy to have around.

Things for My Car on Amazon

There are many different kinds of parts and pieces that a vehicle may need that can be found online. Although, I am not a mechanic I come from a long line of mechanics. I don't know everything there is to know about my car. Nevertheless, I do know that having the right automotive manual around is always a good idea. I know that my father and brother as well as my boyfriend really appreciate having the right auto manual in hand before they begin working on any vehicle.

To actually choose things for my car anywhere I would have to consult with my shade tree mechanic to be absolutely sure, you should make sure to choose the right automotive items for your vehicle or vehicles as well.

My Good Used Car Buying Stories

...how to buy a good used car...

First, I'd like to say that I am thankful that the majority of my used cars were and have been really good, reliable cars. I'll tell you more about them later. However, I'll tell you about this particular car now.

Believe it or not it was a second-hand car. The first owners were at the time I bought the car an elderly couple. Soon after they bought the car the company recalled them for some flaw in the top coat.

Lots of other people sent their car back and got the newer edition. However, the man who bought this car knew he had a good car and wasn't worried about the top coat. He knew the engine was top form and the transmission was awesome. This couple had a garage alongside their home so, the car had its own garage to keep it safe, sound and protected from the elements.

However, over the years there was a bit of well used and care for wear showing as the couple became too old to drive. They decided to retire from driving and to sell the car via one of their friends who had a car lot.

About this time, I showed up and fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It was used, but still very much in great condition. It runs well and stops well. It's taken me and my family many miles and then back again.

The owners manual is in the glove box and lists all the various maintenance jobs that have been taken care of by the first owners and I've added to the list as tasks have shown a need for care. I've driven this car since the early part of 2005. Of course, the top coat is still ailing and I hope to one day have it repainted in the same dark burgundy color. The head liner is beginning to fray off at the rear view or back window. I plan to have this fixed as well. One of the covers on a backseat belt has come off or was off when I bought the car; but, the seat-belt still works correctly.
