an overview of the 2009 lexus gs 350

To many, car means life, and life without the latest car invoke is like living life in a bondage, and truly, living life as a car fleeter is a quite a fun-filled one though it is always an expensive one to afford, but it has a cause for justification anyway.

According to, “The 2009 Lexus GS 350 delivers exceptional road manners at a moderate price, making it an excellent choice for a luxury performance sedan”.

The luxurious GS 350 Lexus is equipped with a strong V6 engine refined handling and ride quality, quiet and push cabin, outstanding fit and finish. Though, it has a very minor ergonomic oversights, touchy brakes, headroom might be insufficient for taller occupants, but this is by no way a tangible reason to change your mind from having a ride on this new refined car, which has caught the eye of many car lovers like you, so what are you waiting for?

Above all, if you are one of those who prefer some bit of the past, the new 2009 Lexus GS 350 car remains unchanged from the previous year, rather new features are added to make it more comfortable for you and your loved one.

Since the introduction of the GS model in 1993, Lexus has tried to maintained a high and reputable standard, competing with the highest spirit of luxury and performance provision for its teeming number of customers.

The race of auto manufacturing competition seem too tight for unbeatable to be beaten without noticing their failures. Lexus GS, which was introduced with the sole aim of unseating well-established German marques in this segment, gained our impression with its sharp styling and impeccable fit and finish, rather it lacked the athletic handling and power of its European competitors.

Just as everything else changes, times have changed too, and the 2009 Lexus GS 350 has nearly leveled the playing ground with its ever-perfect features. A capable 303-horsepower V6, available all-wheel drive, a luxurious cabin and enough of standard and subordinate features, which are enough to keep any luxury-sedan buyer and his loved one happy. In addition to these features, the GS 350 sedan is an exceptional highway cruiser with safety.

So sadly, despite the proficiency of the 2009 Lexus GS 350, it is obvious to admit that the all-time BMW 5 series still reckons high above the Lexus. When considering alternative sedans to the 2009 GS 350 Lexus, one must not look further away from Cadillac STS V6, Infiniti M35, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and even the new Hyundai Genesis.

While these competitors offer similar comfort with comparable or better performance, the Lexus GS 350 sedan remains a solid and wise choice that is sure to live up to its exceptional reputation, when it come to other secondary features like ease of maintenance and durability, which is one of the mark of Lexus products.

The 2009 Lexus GS350 sedan is a midsize luxury sport sedan that comes with rear-wheel drive (or better still, back-wheel drive) or what may be referred to as all-wheel drive. It is available in a single, well-appointed trim, other standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights (that hardly tarnishes), a sunroof, leather seats and a 10-speaker audio system with a six-CD changer, an auxiliary audio jack and a cassette player. Factory options include rear park assist, adaptive headlights, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, ventilated front seats, a rear sunshade, 18-inch wheels with summer tire, a rear spoiler, adaptive variable suspension dampers and an upgraded 14-speaker Mark Levinson DVD surround system with navigation and a rearview camera.

The 2009 Lexus GS 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces a 303 horsepower and 274 pound-feet of torque. It has six-speed automatic with a manual shift mode, which is the only available transmission. Acceleration is brisk; the GS 350 achieve 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA0 fuel economy in at 19 mpg city drive/27 mpg highway drive and 22 mpg combined. All-wheel-drive models achieve 18/25/20 mpg.

Just as in every other aspects of life, safety first, Lexus tried to keep this words and as well its noble reputation. The 2009 GS 350 model includes antilock brakes with brake assist, stability control, traction control, front-and rear-seat side airbags, driver and front-passenger kneel airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. It is also equipped with a pre-collision system, which is part of the optional adaptive cruise control, it uses radar to detect an impending crash and responds by pre-tensioning the seatbelts and activating brake assist. In crash testing, the Lexus GS 350 received the highest rating of “good” for both frontal-offset and side-impact collision from the insurance institute for Highway safety.

As a way of maintaining its high luxury and user comfortability standards, 2009 Lexus GS 350’s interior is perfectly assembled and surrounds its occupants in supple leather, genuine wood and aluminum finish. Interiorly, for mature adults fit comfortably, although the normal technical occupant is 5, it can still take one more passenger, though not always recommendable.

The optional navigation system display is quite easy to see, credit to its high resolution touchscreen, but unfortunately, the integrated audio system controls are not intuitive and thus, there lies some complains on the interior designs, but are too minor to detract a potential buyer.

This latest model of the Lexus GS 350 proves suiting to almost all drivers. It is well suitable for daily commute yet, offers durability and the energy for speed or reckless driving. It can take any bend, corner, courtesy of its well-designed rigid chassis and suspension system. But I must point out clearly here that it lacks the athleticism, which most competing sedans possess.

On testing, the GS 350 proved its efficiency to stop from 60mph in just 114feet. For those who wish to drive in severe weather conditions like stormy and cold weathers, the all-wheel drive option of the GS 350 proves a wise choice for you.
