The front wheel version of the 2015 Honda Civic Sedan runs on a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine. The engine produces up to 143 hp and also 129 lb free of torque. The engine run son a 5 speed manual transmission and has CVT option. Fuel consumption is 31 mpg for city drive, 41 mpg for highway drive and 35 mpg overall. With the manual transmission, fuel consumption can be expected to reduce to overall 31 mpg, 28 mpg for city drive and 36 mpg for highway drive.

The second option will be 2.4 liter inline-4 engine with 2015 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. This engine is matted with 6-speed manual transmission and its fuel economy is estimated at 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Also new 2016 Civic Sedan will have to offer hybrid powertrain for the better fuel economy. This hybrid powertrain consist of the 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and electric motor. It has CVT and gives 110 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque. The fuel economy of Civic Hybrid is estimated at 48 mpg in the city and 46 mpg on the highway.

The price is expected to go for $19,000 for the basic - LX version, while price for the hybrid version should start at $25.000. Truth however remains that no one can say when exactly the 2015 Honda Civic Sedan will be made available for sale. The price given above may also change by the time it is finally made available in the auto market due to inflation rate and other associated factors. The actual price to be paid may also depend on the model you decide to go for and the special features you decide to opt for.

The new 2016 Honda Civic without hybrid version

Executive Vice President of American Honda Motor Co. John Mendel announced changes to propose to the offer of this Japanese brand.

First of all, he was announced that the new - tenth generation of Civic in North America will be launched this autumn, and with a range of two engines.

However, the range of the new Civic will not be a hybrid version and no versions powered with CNG, since the Honda believe that the standard Civic suffice economical for most drivers.

Mendel also announced the elimination of the Accord plug-in hybrid, with the announcement that it will be replaced with a new plug-in hybrid model (the specifics of that were not disclosed).

On the other hand, the new Accord Hybrid will be launched early next year, with even better performance and lower fuel consumption than its predecessor.

Finally, Mendel confirmed that Honda will next year promote new vehicle with a fuel cell, as well as for giving later be offered to the new electric model.
