Shaheed Bhagat Singh international airport in Chandigarh is in Mohali offering both domestic and international flights.

The old terminal in Chandigarh has been shifted to the new terminal of domestic flights located at Jheourheri Village in Punjab having 305 acres of area. The international flights are continuously operated 24*7. The inauguration of new terminal was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 11th September 2015 and was operational on 19th October 2015. Larsen and Toubro built the new eco-friendly terminal whose interiors are laid with plants and garden. It has 17 domestic and 2 international terminals. Air India, Jet Konnect, Spicejet, Vistara, Indigo, Air Asia India are some of the airline with whom airport has made alliance. One can travel to the airport through Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. It serves Panchkula, Mohali, States of Punjab, Haryana and districts of Himachal.

The Union territory of Chandigarh has airport runway while the on the south side of the runway in Jhiurheri village Mohali Punjab is the international terminal. The upgrade in the runway was done from 2017-2019 and the repair was completed on April 2019. The runway is an area of 12400 feet with 10400 feet of take-off length. The airport is now available for 24*7 hours with CAT IIB ILS. The airport remains closed on every second and fourth Saturday for repairs. On October 5th October 2019, the first night flight was launched by GoAir.

There is parking area wherein ATM is located, Wi-Fi is inside the terminal and one duty free shop is in the departures area. Indigo and Air India Express are the two airlines that started flights to Dubai and Sharjah respectively from September 2016 though it was eligible for international flights since 19th August 2011.For passengers comfort there are transportation facilities such as buses, cabs and other like autos to help the travellers to travel.Civil and military transportation both are carried on these airport. Domestic airport is connected to Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad etc.

It is called an IXC airport as it is a military cum civil airport. Since IX is a code for military air bases and C is for Chandigarh it is known as IXC.

Sector 43 has direct bus services from airport connecting to major cities like Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
