Drive Home Safe And That Will Be The Highlight Of My Day
I Will Be Waiting With Open Arms
As life gets busy so do we
Sometimes a husband and wife have to do things separately
She goes off to work and I am off and I get to stay home (the way I like it) lol
No truthfully I miss her with all my heart
We are fortunate to drive to work together most of the week
I am proud to say she is a better driver than me
When we have had a long day she is a trooper through and through
I get tired and fall off too sleep while she drives with a cautious eye
When we go to work I am refreshed then I drive so she can take an afternoon nap
Our ride is an hour and a half of driving mostly highway
We travel some one hundred and fifty miles a day
Careful to leave early enough so we are not late
Just in case unexpected traffic comes
We have to be happy from the start
It is not safe to drive angry or mad
Looking at a hostile face and sitting siliently is no picnic
I rather be hung by my fingertips on the clothes line outside to dry
Life is too short and everything we say and do does matter
The time we spend together is special and it will always be that way
If we are talking, quietly napping, or listening to the radio
They are all favorites and I can't choose one I woudn't do
As long as I get to spend it with that fine wife of mine
Who will be home soon and then we will soon call it a day
We both have to work to earn an honest living
To pay the bills and keep the roof from falling in
This seems like an endless cycle of trying to make ends meet
If we can take the best of times and the worst of times and divide by two
We have half the money and twice the love
I know in the long run it will all work out
So no need to pout when things aren't coming together
We have everything we have ever wanted as long as we hold each other
I look into your eyes that I have seen so many times before
One that makes your lips pucker
For the man that you adore
I may not be rich or famous
But I can see happiness for a lifetime
With a wonderful wife like you
