2017 Ford Expedition - it's time for a new update

Updated on July 7, 2016

Ford’s Expedition line has been around for quite a while, and during that time it has made a name for itself. That is why it comes as no surprise that a new, redesigned and upgraded version is being prepared by the famous American car manufacturer. It remains to be seen whether or not it will be able to live up to the expectations and continue the long line of SUVs Ford has produced that ruled the market for so many years. Let’s take a look at 2018 Ford Expedition.

2017 Ford Expedition Engine and Transmission

It can be said with certainty that Expedition will be available in more than just a few trim levels. Limited, XLT EL, Limited EL, XLT, Platinum EL, Platinum, King Ranch and King Ranch El are the models which will be offered. The base model should come with a 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost engine that can develop 365 horsepower and 420 pounds of torque. Diesel-powered motor will also be an option, and the engine most frequently talked about is 6.7 liter Power Stroke V8 with 440 horsepower and 860 of torque. Transmission system that is frequently connected with the Ford’s newcomer is 10 speed 10R80 Select Shift intelligent manumatic transmission which allows users to choose between manual and automatic transmission. The vehicle should have fuel consumption of 15 miles per gallon for city driving and 21 mpg for highways. The 2017 Expedition is a promising SUV, with all the attributes of modernly designed car that can compete with market’s demands.

2017 Ford Expedition Exterior and Interior

We are looking at the vehicle which has all the characteristics of a classic SUV. The body is constructed from lightweight materials, such as boron steel and aluminum and as a result its weight allows it to develop more speed. Both the front and back end are completely redesigned and bumpers, grille, headlights and taillights have an entirely new look. 22 inch alloy wheels vouch for SUV’s stability on a large variety of terrains. This four door vehicle comes with a feature that enables you to open the door automatically. The seats are arranged in three rows, and they can accommodate up to eight grown up passengers.

The interior is dominated with materials such as aluminum and wood, which leaves a strong impression of elegance and comfort. MyFord touch infotainment system comes as a standard and is accompanied with 10 speaker Sony Audio System. These are operated through a 4.2 inch LCD touch screen which is located on the instrument panel. Smartphone, USB and Bluetooth connections are also available. 2017 Ford Expedition has all of the attributes of a modern, powerful and endurable SUV, which will set future industry standards.

2017 Ford Expedition Release Date and Price

According to all the available information the 2017 Expedition should be available at dealerships in the second half of 2016. However, these are only speculations, and might include more wishful thinking than we would like. If there are no setbacks these estimations might prove to be right.
The starting price for the base model should be approximately 42.000$, and it might go as high as 61.000$ for Platinum EL model. Once on the market Expedition will face completion from industry giants such as GMC Yukon, Nissan Armada and Chevrolet Tahoe. Whether or not it will be able to cope with its competition will become clear once it hits the market.
