Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide

Updated on September 14, 2010

Harley Davidson have been producing motorcycles since 1903, over the years they have not been scared of adapting different designs and styles in their motorcycles. They have realized that there is no one do it all motorcycle, although people have different needs from their motorcycles. The Dyna Wide Glide is probably one of the most mixed Harleys there has ever been, rather than compromising, it tends to take advantages from different Harleys to create a new motorcycle.

The Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide is a mid range Harley starting at $14499. It is available with 3 color schemes as standard which are: Vivid black, vivid black with flames decor, or hot sunglo red. The wheel of choice for the Dyna Wide Glide are black steel laced wheels.

It is of fusion design taking in design cues from street bikes like the Harley Davidson Night Rod, choppers like the Harley Davidson Rocker and touring motorcycles like the Harley Davidson Road Glide. For those that don't want to commit to any particular design but want a good all round Harley Davidson, the Dyna Wide Glide might be the one for you.

Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide Specs

The Dyna Wide Glide is powered by the air cooled 96B engine. It returns 54mpg on the highway and 34mpg in the city whilst generating 92 ft lb or torque at 3000rpm.

Styling cues include the 2-1-2 'tommy gun' style exhausts which are finished in the usual Harley Davidson Chrome. The chrome covered rocker and derby covers matching up and drag style handle bars on 4 inch riders for a relaxed riding position.

The tank is an enlarged traditional peanut design Harley usually go for, but have the new H-D medallion on rather than the Harley Davidson signature.

The rear of the bike sees a chopped off fender to give the drag look a bit more, and the licence plate is side mounted rather than mounted on the fender. The twin rear lights also hold the indicator and the rear lights all in one.

The two piece two vinyl seat design is backed with a raised black sissy bar too. If you are after alternative motorcycle seats, feel free to check out my hub on that topic too. Although the suspension is also 2 inches lower than previous years models to give a more aggressive stance without compromising comfort.
