I extend the first line "or just something you do from home for an extra stream of income" to make my point clear. Thanks for noticing flacoinohio. People like you make us better.

I guess I was confused about your article. It does not indicate anything about private sales in person or on the Internet. As a reader my perception is that the hub was about becoming a retail automobile salesperson.

Thanks for sharing your experience flacoinohio. Some people end up finding out they have the natural knack for this sort of thing. I did find a buyer from craigslist for and old vehicle. It took nearly 2 weeks.

As a former car salesman, I can tell you and others that selling cars is an art. Not everyone starting out can make a sale the first day, let alone the first week. Most auto dealers are commission only salaries and while you can receive a draw every week, usually $150 you have to pay that draw back when you do make a sale. Most new sales staff often end up splitting their first five sales sometimes more with other sales staff or a manager who charges new staff for assistance even if the help is not needed or wanted. Making money in the car business is slow unless you get lucky and get hired by a dealer that pays a wage and not straight commission. If you need money now, selling cars new or used is not going to make you fast money unless you are a natural and you sell at least three cars a week.

If you think of the numbers of sales for each day, that may equate to a sale per dealership which may have up to 50 sales staff working at a time.
