Hyundai’s New Year Gift:10 Speed AT Genesis Sedan for India
Hyundai with its sister concern South Korean car manufacturer Kia has planned to launch and gift to world a 10-speed automatic transmission sedan for New Year 2012. The car is named by the sister companies as Hyundai Genesis Sedan. It has been estimated that this joint venture will ensure uninterrupted power delivery and excellent fuel economy to this 10 speed AT luxury sedan.
When it comes to developing maximum speed manual gearboxes, the Korean motor companies Hyundai and Kia always have an edge over others auto manufacturers. The pure example was the launch of Hyundai i20 with 6 speed manual transmission in India when no other competitor of Hyundai had a 6 Speed hatchback in their mind but the 6 speed was converted to 5 Speed manual transmission because of sudden increased demand of i20s in the Indian auto industry and also due to launch of Hyundai’s another masterpiece Fluidic Verna that also coincidentally has a 6-Speed manual transmission.
With the recent news about launch of several electric cars in India and every car manufacturer planning to roll out an “E” version of its current models, the Genesis Sedan will offer a unique feature of 10 speed automatic transmission. Although Hyundai has already planned to develop a “Blue On Electric Car” based on the i10 model, cars like Genesis and Equus will always have an edge over electric cars due to their unique features. Also, luxury sedans like Genesis cannot be compared to economical cars like i10 because of big PRICE difference and many other factors.
Genesis is equipped with roof-mounted (side curtain) airbags, front and side impact airbags, electronic brakeforce distribution, tire pressure monitor, radar based cruise control, antibraking system, electronic stability control system, 17 speaker Lexicon stereo system, electronic head restraints, ultraviolet-reflective steering wheel and leather material staying cool at high temperatures.
As a simple review, the base model by the name of Genesis V6 makes 333 horsepower whereas the V8 top model of Genesis sedan is making 429 HP. The car will be priced in India in the range of 35 lakhs giving a tough competition to several other luxury sedans in Indian car market. Enhanced interiors, unmatched power, improved suspension, and world-class features induce value for money in this luxury sedan from Hyundai. As anticipated, world will get its New Year Gift in the form of Hyundai Genesis by 2012 giving a tough competition to BMW 7Series, Audi A8, and Mercedes S Class, so we have another thing to smile this New Year.
