Don't Text- Don't Talk- JUST DRIVE
Don't Text- Don't Talk- JUST DRIVE

Texting and Driving Statistics

Texting while driving is a growing trend, and a national epidemic, quickly becoming one of the country’s top killers. Drivers assume they can handle texting while driving and remain safe, but the numbers don’t lie.

Texting While Driving Causes:

1. 1,600,000 accidents per year – National Safety Council
2. 330,000 injuries per year – Harvard Center for Risk Analysis Study
3. 11 teen deaths EVERY DAY – Ins. Institute for Hwy Safety Fatality Facts
4. Nearly 25% of ALL car accidents

Texting While Driving Is:

1. About 6 times more likely to cause an accident than driving intoxicated
2. The same as driving after 4 beers – National Hwy Transportation Safety Admin.
3. The number one driving distraction reported by teen drivers

Are Cell Phones Creating more Problems than solutions?

Smart Phones have become a major part in our day-to-day lives. They help us stay up to date with what is going on in the world, stay in touch with people we love (as well as the ones that we don’t love), and allow us to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Although the benefits to a smartphone are extensive, they have also become the source of much distraction.

The distractions that are due to the use of smartphones cause serious and sometimes fatal consequences, particularly when drivers are using their phones, focusing on their conversations rather than the road before them. Texting while driving has become a national epidemic, and a top killer. On average, 11 teenage drivers lose their lives, EVERYDAY due to texting and driving. People that text and drive are 23X more likely to get into a car accident than those who are not. If these facts are not scary enough on their own, maybe knowing that 1,600.000 accident (that is nearly 25% of all car accidents) is due to the distraction that texting and talking on a mobile devise causes.

A growing problem that is costing lives

Business that service customers on location, such as delivery drivers, plumbers, pest exterminators, are affected by the use of mobile phones during work hours, more specifically driving hours. Insurances increase to keep employed drivers insured- costing the employer money. Employees texting and talking while driving, create dangerous situations and often result in collisions, costing the employer money.

Parents can now text or call their teenager at any time, keeping track of their whereabouts and reminding them of curfews, but your teenager can also text or call everyone else at any time, and they often do when they shouldn’t. Teens that text message while they drive spend 10% of their driving time outside of their driving lane.

Texting While Driving:

1. Makes you 23X more likely to crash – National Hwy Transportation Safety Admin.
2. Is the same as driving blind for 5 seconds at a time – VA. Tech Transportation Institute
3. Takes place by 800,000 drivers at any given time across the country
4. Slows your brake reaction speed by 18% – HumanFactors & Ergonomics Society
5. Leads to a 400% increase with eyes off the road

Finally a Solution to help save lives!

Is there a way to defeat this epidemic that has swept the nation and is taking the lives of people of all ages? I hope so, because the world we live in today has enough dangers, we have no need to create more.

Luckily, there is an up and coming (not yet launched), anti texting mobile app that will allow parents and or business owners to control the use of mobile devices while traveling in a vehicle. My Mobile Manager is a cost effective, life saving mobile phone app that will allow the app administrator (the account holder) to disallow the use/access of cell phone features for a mobile phone while in motion.

Why My Mobile Manager may be an app that you shouldn't live without.

As a parent, and as a driver, I can’t think of a more valuable mobile phone app to download and implement. As a parent, I fear so many things that circulate around my children, and I do whatever I must to protect them. My Mobile Manager does not allow them to send or receive text messages, which will allow them to keep their eyes on the road. Knowing that the average text messaging driver takes their eyes off the road for 5 seconds every time they glance down at their phone screen, 5 seconds, driving 55 mph is enough time to travel the length of a football field, is not how I want my children to spend their time driving- this is one mobile application that I would not only consider, but will make a must for my family.

I encourage all to make the roads and the drivers traveling on it, safer than they have been in past years. My Mobile Manager was created to save lives- save the life of the people that matter most.

For now The Anti Texting, Anti Talking While Driving Mobile App is available for Android Phones, not yet IPhones, and is available on Google Play.

Admin Controls and Settings

An app with features that actually matter!

UNBLOCK PASSWORD- An administrator on the account can choose to give the password to a driver. When the driver enters the passcode, they can then disable, "My Mobile Manager". The administrator may reactivate My Mobile Manager at any time on an installed devise and change the password to prohibit future, restricted deactivation.

BLUETOOTH PHONE CALLS - A Driver WILL have the ability to make outgoing calls via “Voice” activated dialing and receive incoming calls while driving when the device is attached to a hands free blue tooth device. This feature renders the phone virtually Hands-Free and is the only way that a phone may be used when in motion while My Mobile Manager is activated on a phone.

APPS & OTHER - The Driver will at no time be able to go into any other Apps, email, Internet or any other normal functions while the vehicle has breached any of the Parameters set by the Administrator.

Basically, when you are driving-JUST DRIVE! No more talking, texting, surfing the internet, or playing a game. Look at the road in front of you and see what is happening around you. My Mobile Manager is here to save lives that are lost due to the careless actions of individuals who feel as if what they are doing on their cell phones is more important than ensuring their own safety as well as the safety of other commuters.

Awhile back I wrote an article about a girl who lost her life due to texting and driving. Her story told by her family, and the people who she left behind, is a story that doesn't need to be told by any more heart broken parents, siblings and friends. Remember Alex Brown- and make some changes to save live!

Thanks Amit for taking the time to read and comment. I think that if we as a whole could keep texting from driving from happening, that thousands of lives every year would be spared. It really is a big problem that needs to be handled, and this app really can make a difference. Thanks again!
