5 stars for OjO Commuter Scooter for Adults - Eco-friendly, Electric

Smart and Fun!

We now have a total of 3 OjO Scooters and will be ordering our 4th within the next couple of weeks. We originally purchased two granite colored scooters for my husband and I to use together on our days out and about. A few weeks after receiving them and seeing how incredible they were we decided to purchase one with the 'Street Art' design for our oldest child. I must admit that as a 30 something woman I have just as much fun with this scooter as my 16 year old who enjoys honking the horn every time he passes someone he knows!

I have never really gotten into the whole product review scene and when I first decided to purchase these scooters it was not even on my mind. But it has been so long since I have found any kind of product that was just all around great that was worth me raving about.

One of my favorite parts of the OjO is that we have drastically reduced our carbon footprints while using it. My son enjoys riding it to school just about every day now. It runs on a single lithium ion battery and comes with an on-board charging cord that plugs into a regular 110v outlet. The instructions say that it takes about 6-8 hours to fully charge it but I have never actually timed it. The same instructions also say that it goes 25 miles on a single charge but I have surpassed that multiple times by 5 or 10 miles each time and I have never had an issue.

Another very important factor when I decided to start purchasing for my kids is that there is no licence needed to drive these and they are legal to be in the bike lane. The speed tops out at around 20 mph give or take a mile or two depending on charge. And they have both front and rear disc brakes as well as front and rear LED lights for safety. It also has full front and rear suspension for a comfortable ride. You can also buy them in a variety of colors.

The color options include:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Graphite
  • Orange
  • Rose Gold
  • White
  • Street Art (Black and white)

I really like the look of the graphite and my son loves the street art look. My other child has is still going back and forth between the extremely vibrant orange and the pearly looking blue. I really like the blue but I wont be upset if she goes with the orange because at least she would be easy to see!

All the Bells and Whistles.

The OjO comes fully assembled and the only thing you have to do yourself is remove the seat if you wish to do so. We have not removed any of the seats so I really couldn't tell you anything about that. But I must admit that the sit down and ride version is amazingly comfortable.

Overall this scooter is of amazingly high quality. It has everything from a USB charging port for your phone or mp3 player, dual Bluetooth speakers and two wireless key fobs with a panic button. The interactive display screen is very simple to use and is probably one of my favorite parts because it lets me keep track of my distance on my current ride but it also allows me to check the history.

What's included in the box?

  • Ojo Electric Scooter
  • Two Key Fobs
  • Owners Manual
  • Battery Removal Key
  • Seat Assembly Cover Plate
  • Allen Wrench

I ordered a few extra accessories that I would recommend to anyone but are not essential needs to enjoy your scooter. I have purchased 3 sets of side mirrors for my own piece of mind. I also got 3 baskets but my son refuses to attach a basket to his bike so we only use two right now! And I also purchase an extra battery and will probably get an extra one for each bike just because it is so nice to have if we want to go for longer rides without having to worry about running the battery dead.

There are other accessories that I have not purchased that might make other people happy like cup and phone holders and scooter covers. All are prices reasonably well but are not something that I really want or need.

These scooters truly are made for anyone, whether you are commuting to school or work daily like my son. Enjoying a day out with the husband like I do. Or if you have a hard time with mobility and want to be able to do things on your own without having to worry about whether or not you can make it home.

I don't think anyone could be unsatisfied with their purchase after using their OjO for even just a day.

I thought the rose gold was a very pretty color as well. I went with the graphite instead because I felt the lighter color would require more washing!
