R1 Yamaha Review

Yamaha has launched their all New R1 Yamah YZF series after nearly 10 years of YZF series development including a fuel-injected engine and Deltabox frame. It's is perfect piece for the real 'sports drive'.With its 179Bhp and 998cc engine, Yamaha is considered to be one of the best in superbikes worldwide. The new generation R1 is very much intimately linked with out MotoGP winning M1 than ever before.Even in 1998 the 150-horsepower R1 was a huge revolution.

The R1 newly features Yamaha D-MODE( or drive mode) with the friendly driver-selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-Y performance for the optimum riding conditions. The standard map is architechured for optimum overall performance.

Similar to the previour editions, the Yamaha Chip Control Throttle and Chip Control Intake also persist in the new model. It allows you to switch through three different ranges of power delevery and throttle sensitivity settings.

This legendary bike for 2010 is equipped with a 998cc inline four-cylinder engine with a crossplane  crankshaft that runs with an uneven firing interval. This MotoGP-inspired engine is the most technologically advanced powerplant ever seen on a Yamaha supersport bike.

R1 Yamaha : Features

 Design and Style

The first new eye-catching feature in the new R1 yamaha are the round projector beam headlamps that resembles the traditional R1 shape. The side fairing is smoother and sleeker.

The designer even included retractable eyelids to differentiate between full and dip beam. The aluminium Deltabox frame is also all new , using combination of die cast, gravity cast and stamped components for the lightest possible weight.Yamaha claims an ideal mix of flex, rigidity and low weight.

Suspension and Chassis

The new SOQI front forks take a page from the championship-winning design of MotoGP weapon , the M1.As both the forks move together, the compression damping duties can be confined to the left fork, while rebound damping is precisely handled by the right fork.To achieve maximum perfomance, a new bottom linkage is used to work with the rest of the chassis refinements for brilliant, crisp handling characteristics.
