Riding a Tandem Bike

Updated on February 28, 2019

How to Ride a Tandem Bike

Bike riding is a great past time, it is also great exercise depending on how long you are on the bike for. It can also feel limitless depending on where you are going and how long you have been on the bike. Have you ever rode a Tandem Bike? Have you ever heard the word Tandem Bike? I hadn't before today. What is a Tandem bike? A Tandem bike is a bike where in order to ride it you need two people. On this bike, the person in the front steers and peddles while the person in the back peddles. It’s like riding a two seat bike but you both have to peddle instead of just one person. I have never ridden a tandem bike until last Friday. I was quite nervous at first because I am not too good riding a bike in general. Sure I can ride a bike but I can’t turn very well or stop, so when I was asked if I wanted to try riding a tandem bike I was bit nervous. As I mentioned before, however, it is quite easy the person in front in the one that is steering the bike, and you are just peddling to keep the bike in motion. However, when you are turning, either way, you have to help the driver in the front by putting the peddle down when it is time to turn.

If you are not too good on bikes but really want to ride one, I would highly suggest a Tandem Bike. You can do it with friends or family, and who doesn’t like doing that. I went out on a friend of a friend’s tandem bike and I had a blast. Even though I am not the going on a bike type of person, it was fun and now I am thinking of getting better at riding my bike. This was something new that I tried, who doesn’t like trying something new?

If you don’t try something new at least once a day or even every once in a while, your life won’t be adventurous. Which is never fun. You need to have a bit of adventure in your life in order to live your life. I don’t really leave my house much so going out on the tandem bike was an experience I am sure to remember. My friend and I rode the tandem bike at point Pelee which is where the bike was stored at the time and we rode 14 km, which is pretty far on a bike, wouldn’t you say?

When you ride a tandem bike, you have to peddle at the same time with your partner. If you are not peddling at the same time then the bike doesn’t move. Which is weird I thought but that is how you ride it so that is how I did it. I loved it and would do it again, it was something that I have never done before. I don’t mind trying new things it Broadens my horizons and who doesn’t like that. Have you ever ridden a tandem bike, or done something that you have never done before? How did you like it? biking great exercise, isn’t it? If you want more exercise then check out a Tandem bike. I had a blast on it, so why not check it out. If you do check it out, let’s have a discussion about it. If you need a new form of exercise why not check this out. I really enjoyed it, and I am not really the outdoors type or the bike riding type and if I say that I like it then I think that is saying something but that is just my opinion. Do you think that riding a tandem bike, would be fun?

Fun on a Bike

The tandem bike is limitlessly fun because you can't ride it by yourself you have to ride it with someone else in order to get it move properly. Which means you get a workout in and you get to spend limitless amounts of time with whoever is riding behind or in front of you. If you can't ride a two-wheeled bike would still love to ride a bike check out the tandem bike, it has two wheels but is a lot easier to maneuver since there is two of you and you can be in the back which means the only thing you will have to do is peddle and not steer the wheel if that is what you want to do or if steering the wheel is what scares you about riding a two wheeler you won't have to do it, you can ride in the back.

A tandem bike is a harder bike to use, but it is abundantly more fun and you get a better workout because you have to work harder to keep up with the person in front of you if you are in the back because if you stop peddling the back peddles it is harder to move. Riding tandem bike is like team work for you and the other person, it is a limitless amount of fun and very relaxing. If you haven't been on a tandem bike at least once in your life I would advise you to try it out with a friend, you will kill two birds with one stone one you can catch up with the friend you went riding with as well when you are getting exercise.

If you want to do something fun and exciting with friends, take out a tandem bike on a bike trail and look around. Riding a tandem bike is a lot different than riding a two wheeled bike because you don't all have to steer if you don't want too. I enjoy riding the tandem bike better, then the two-wheeled bike because on the tandem bike I don't need to stop myself or turn myself I have a friend there to help me do those things if they are sitting in the front. Which is what I have trouble with when riding a two wheeled bike, so I enjoy it a lot more.

Biking can make the world seem limitless depending on the speed. When you are riding a tandem bike, though depending on where you are sitting you get to see the world from a different angle which makes it seem a lot more limitless, or at least that is what it does for me since am always sitting in the back watching the trees go by at top speed, depending on how fast the person in front is peddling which for the most part is fast. If you are in the back it seems as though the scenery is zipping by you at a million miles a minute but it really isn't that fast. I couldn't even tell you how fast it would be going because I have never timed it but I have ridden a tandem bike twice in my life and loved every minute of it.

So if you are looking for something outdoorsy to do that is different why not try renting a tandem bike with a friend and give that a go.

Tandem Bike riding is great for friends

Tandem Bike riding is great fun because you get to spend time with friends while doing it since you can't ride it by yourself. So if you want to hang out abundantly with your friends and do something new and fun why not ride a tandem bike ride?

So nice that you got to experience riding a tandem bike. I have only ridden single ones but would surely like to experience riding a tandem one. Thanks for commenting on my hub about this same subject.
