Star Car by Durant Motors

Like other vehicles produced by the Durant Motors Company, the Star was an "assembled" car, built from parts supplied by various outside companies. Originally, Stars were powered by a 4-cylinder engine, but in 1926 Durant introduced a straight 6-cylinder engine. All of Druant's engines were built by Continental Motors in Detroit.

In 1923, Durant's Star became the first car offered with a factory-built station wagon instead of shipping the chassis out to a custom body builder for the addition of the wood station wagon body.

I had the pleasure of a ride in a mint Star Car in Tiburon, California, a couple of years ago when I took the pictures provided below.

[Note: Not much information is available on the Internet about the Star Car. I would be grateful for additional information, e.g, number built, original and current prices, etc.]

I love old cars. Really old ones, not the ones stuffed with modern parts... And this one seems to be in such a great shape!

I had a short ride in it. It sounded and looked like new.
