The new Hyundai Genesis will soon be released

Updated on May 31, 2015

What we can expect from the new 2017 Hyundai Genesis?

Hyundai shot back European giants with a face-lifted version for the 2012 model year, but now Hyundai is working even harder for the second generation Genesis.

This company has always had the shortest product cycle. This allows Hyundai to keep its models fresh and with BMW and Mercedes in the loop of competition.

Hyundai hasn’t announced any details on what changes the company will apply, but we expect a new design language. The sedan version will feature major changes on the front grille – similar to the one found in the new 2017 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, new headlamps, a new bonnet and new bumpers. The interior will also receive a series of new technologies and equipment.

The cabin has received an improvement over the previous model, and is equipped with luxurious materials. As a result of changes inside the boot space is increased to 3.7 liters, and now stands at 26.9 liters.

New Genesis is 4,990 mm long, 1,890 wide and 1,480 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,010 mm. It is available with wheels of different sizes – from 17 to 19 inches, and comes as standard on the rear of the drive shaft. HTRAC operating system on all four wheels is optional.

New Hyundai Genesis will be more powerful than ever

Depending on the markets on which will be sold in the offering are four engines. The initial one will be 3.0-liter V6 with 257 hp and 303 Nm of torque. The following is a 3.3-liter V6 with 282 hp and 347 Nm of torque, and the 3.8-liter V6 with 315 hp and 397 Nm. At the top ranking is a 5.0-liter V8 with 425 horses and 519 Nm of torque. All the engines have been improved in order to have better performance and paired with eight-speed automatic transmission.

The basic version from 0 to 100 km / h accelerates in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km / h. 3.3-liter engine for that need 7.2 seconds, 3.8-liter 6.5. V8 version to mph comes in 5.4 seconds and top a speed of 240 km / h. Other improvements include a rear multi-link suspension and a host of safety systems.

Hyundai is considering a crossover based on Genesis

Bill Thomas, head of Hyundai department for public relations, said that this model is on the wish list of the Executive Director of Hyundai Motor America, and that there is a strong possibility that he might be presented. For now, the entire project is at an early planning stage, and Thomas points out that this model could be somewhat higher than the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
