Child Safety Seats Save lives

Updated on September 13, 2012

I think it is very important to always use a safety or booster seat anytime you are traveling in a vehicle with your children,it's also the law in all 50 states.

Use Common Sense & Never Drive if you

Most vehicle accidents happen within (2) two miles of home.

Be extra careful when you are just leaving out or arriving home,it is a fact that most accidents happen close to home,of course that is where you do the majority of your driving so it makes it easy to forget, but it is worth the time to make it a habit of being extra careful when you are close to home driving.

Make sure you use a safety/booster seat anytime you drive with a child in your vehicle, can you imagine how bad you would feel if you had an accident and was not using a safety/booster seat, not to mention you could be charged with a crime and lose custody of your child.

I am not writing this to scare you just to remind you It is simply not worth the risk of driving without a childs safety booster seat.

Don't say you can't afford one.

The fact is you can't afford to not have a child's safety/booster seat,I am certain that if you try the salvation army or any thrift store you should be able to find a good used one for a few dollars,if you can't afford one then don't drive with the kids in your vehicle. It is that simple leave the kids at home until you can equip your vehicle with a childs safety/booster seat.

Other places to buy a childs safety/booster seat

  • Yard Sales
  • Auctions
  • Ebay
  • Church sales
  • Ask other family members
  • Ask friends to help you find one
  • look in the classified ads
  • use online resources

It is easy to make excuses, deny or minimize our actions sometimes, but there is no good reason for you to ever drive a vehicle with your children inside it without a childs safety/booster seat.

If all else fails just ask someone to help you get one

I know that there are plenty of good people left in this world and most people will help you if you simply ask.

There is no shame in needing assistance from time to time,we are living in a tough economy and I am just about certain that if you ask around for help that someone will help you get a childs safety booster seat,if you truly cannot afford one.I would ask my local churches first and ask them to help you, just explain that you are scared you will have an accident and I'm sure they will help you.

I hope I have made my point as to the importance of having a childs safety/booster seat and look forward to reading your comments and suggestions below.

A very important topic, we all want our children to be safe.

However when people buy secondhand car seats you need to point out the importance of having them tested. If they have previously been involved in an accident they may be damaged and the seat belt not work.

    Good hub
