The Problem
Ever since the old Muscle car days car enthusiasts have been looking for that special car project to rebuild and return to glory old vintage or classic cars. The problem that they run into is that the car makers for those old vehicles have either gone out of business or have stopped producing replacement parts for those treasures.
The parts needed are just not in supply though the demand can be quite large so it takes a real detective to hunt down those needed vintage car parts. Here is a list to help the ca part detective do their work.

More specifically, classic car magazines, not only will they have stories about different vintage cars and the difficulty in getting parts, hey may also contain ads from businesses selling vintage car parts.

If you have time to explore these places are virtual gold mines for old car parts. Their prices may be a lot cheaper than purchasing the same part from other sources.
Car Clubs
Believe t or not, many cars have clubs dedicated to talking about them or rebuilding them. These people are great resource if you are looking for those hard to find parts. Since they may have restored the same vehicle, they would know the best places to get the parts.
Auctions
Many estates have old cars that go on the auction block with their other personal possession. Just call your local auction house and see if they handle hard to find cars.
Barns
Yes, this is a great place to find old cars. An owner or pack rat may not want to through away a great car or they have simply forgotten it was there. Many great finds have been found in barns
