    Never under-estimate the machines; there are already some machines that require no maintenance for 150 years. Thus some are already independent for a time period greater than the life of man. Some are working on a form of machine multiplication...

    A robot can't maintain itself. A human being has to make sure it's parts are lubricated, gears functioning, power source is working properly, screws tightened and so forth. Humans are needed to "babysit robots".
