Alright so I have a 1997 12 valve cummins put inside a 1984 chevy square body. Over a period of about 3 days of sitting the battery will be dead as a brick. I replaced the alternator, starter, ignition swich, and battery just in case one of them was bad. I cleaned off grounds and the whole 9. It kept happening so I went out with a multimeter and tested everything I could. One thing I discovered is that the alternator was physically hot. Nothing else on the engine was physically hot besides the alternator. Tested about 13 volts. Could that be connected to the battery drain? Should it pull 13v?
