   Why Do Front-Drive Cars Have Better Traction In Slippery Conditions? If This Is The Case, Why Then Do People Find Rear-Drive Cars Great Fun That They Just Keep On Buying Them?

   I would have to say yes, only because on a front wheel drive car, the wheels would have the added weight of the engine on top of them so they would have more traction. A rear-wheel drive car might lose traction and just start spinning because the back end is too light.

   I would not say "stronger."  They are more stable.  With a front drive car the power to the wheels is on the front wheels.  This is where the engine weight is located.  On rear wheel drive cars the power is on the rear wheels where there is less weight.
   
   There are also products like the Shurtrax traction device that allows you to put additional weight on the rear wheels.  They have models for both pickup trucks and cars.  It is a simple system that lets you put water in an bladder (much like a waterbed) and let the water freeze or just remain in the bag and add traction for rear wheel drive vehicles.

   If I'm not mistaken, front wheel drive cars are the best for muddy and snowy conditions for exactly the reason pointed out by webdesigndoctor. I remember have a front wheel drive volvo quite a number of years ago when I lived in Rhode Island and it was fantastic in the snow.
