Bought a tavel trailer with a gvwr 9680 rating so how powerful of a truck do i need to pull it?
I don't understand 1/2 ton , 3/4 ton, terms.
A half ton is the everyday pickup truck with 4 wheels you see driven, while your 3/4 ton or 1 ton mostly come equipped with 6 wheels, 4 in back 2 in front. Your trailer may seem big and bulky but all you need to pull it is more than a 4 wheel vehicle. Something like a good 3/4 ton or 1 ton 6 wheel truck. DO not pull it with it a standard half ton as most manufacturers of trailers will tell you can. WHY not?Because IN a half ton that weight is hard on an automatic tranny and travelling uphill can be a real pain. WITH the bigger trucks you won't struggle pulling it, but it will still take time to learn to back it up into tighter corners until you really get the hang of it. Good luck happy motoring!!
