In Car Audio on a Budget

We all like to spend a bit of extra cash for a good brand but what most people don't know nowadays is there is literally hundreds of electrical manufacturers in the world and a lot of your big names like sony, pionees, alpina and more outsource some of there products to other companies, companies that then sell these same products to cheaper brands and manufactureres and in turn where they sell there products what exactly does this mean ? Well it means that they are the same product wihout the BIG BRAND on it sold cheaper.

About 84% of electricals, electronics and general electrical appliances are manufactured in Asia nowadays wether its your refridgerator or your top end stereo unit, most of the items you buy from your local electrical superstore buy these items in build and make huge profits on these items but the fact is inside the housing of most of these items are pretty standard factory items this means that you can spend over a thousand dollars on a car stereo system and its often the same as unbranded (or brand youve never heard of) products with a different house or brand slapped on it.

Now this doesnt mean there arent any poor quality products on the market because there are, things such as poorly made electrical boards, lower quality ports and cheaper LCD devices attached to them can create an overall poor products but if you are clever you can snap up these great items at absolutley bargain prices.

So you have probably seen some of these insane brand items on ebay right ? brands youve never heard of and really cheap compared to your big brands such as panasonic, sony etc. You probably though "ooo thats cheap but its probably crap, ill spend a bit more on such and such a brand" am i right ? Well yeah ive done the same, it was only when buying the same speaker setup as a friend of mine that we compared stereo speakers we noticed that my system sounded so much better. This got me to thinking, why does my cheapo ebay unbranded car stereo sound better than his on the same speakers ?

Well i had that question answered when i approached an electrical enginer who was doing electronics at college, he knew all the components and one night he opened up my home stereo and showed me how a lot of the parts inside were the same as my 4 year old clapped out Panasonic stereo that i had in my living room.

So now i have a setup in my car that cost me $600 dollars and its mainly unbranded stuff and whenever i lsiten to music in my car all my friends agree that it sounds like a $2000 dolalr setup.

My advice is if you are going to buy something make sure its firstly bought in the same company so if its poor you can send it back, make sure it has guarentee with it incase it breaks 2 months after buying it and most importantly check around on the internet first for reviews. You wil be suprised how many big branded stuff gets for breaking after 8 months compared to the other stuff. The most important thing with electrical and in car entertainment is to check the specs, a lot of the ports, boards and ampage will match up to the bigger branded stuff and hey if it sounds as good and lasts as long who cares what brand it has slapped on it right ?

Go here for some great, Budget Car Audio. Ive used these many times, great selection and competative prices.

Where to buy In Car Entertainment

If you are looking for good places to get cheap in car entertainment and car audio devices some good places i recommend is ebay, amazon and car audio all great places for picking up great deals on speakers, amps, car stereos and things like flip out tv's and dvd players. Remember always check for reviews on products before you buy them, this can be done easily by finding the model code eg: Panasonic 3255LT, do this by typing it into google followed by the word reviews and try it also followed by the word problems. Take not there is always likley to be a problem someone is having with any product but use your own intiative when buing in car entertainment, stereos & speakers, for example if the web is riddled with a car stereo having poor sound or low volume or a speaker than people say hisses a lot or soudns tinny its probably worth looking for an alternative model. All in all when buying in car audio, gps or any in car electronics make sure that you research anything before buying it, never EVER assume one product is better because it costs a few extra bucks and always check around the net for the best price before parting with your money there is nothing more frustrating than winning something one ebay for 100 bucks and finding out you could have got it from amazon or another online store for 75 bucks.
