Unique Cars For Sale on eBay

Updated on September 18, 2011

Consider eBay for you next car purchase

eBay is a huge marketplace now. Many people have listed millions of items. eBay has established eBay Motors as a marketplace for new and used cars. Sellers get a large audience for their items while buyers get an opportunity to buy unique cars. If you are interested in a classic Mustang, Camaro or Ferrari, you'll find them on eBay. In fact, like the Wierd Al Jankovic song, "You'll find it on eBay". There is an extensive number of cars including most exotic brands that are rarely seen for sale anywhere else. Unique custom cars are listed. Uniquely painted cars. Production cars that are now unique due to their rarity and condition.

Many areas also have local eBay ads available to them. These are designed to compete with the small local ad boards like Craig's List and others. You may find unique cars to buy on these local ad listings. Check around. An informed buyer will want to check as many places as possible to determine the available inventory. If you are looking for a truly unique car, eBay is often your only choice.

Think about how rare once common cars have now become. Old Beetles, Pintos and Gremlins were made in huge numbers but where are they now? There could be a great one, or any other classic, hidden away in a garage. Eventually, the owner decides to sell their unique car and eBay is an option that they may use. If you're ready to buy, you may see these cars come to auction fairly regularly. It's up to you to wait for, and buy, the collectible car that you want from eBay.

You do have to contend with shipping any car you buy on eBay. If you are really lucky, the car will be located close to you so you can simply go and pick it up. You may even want to take a flight to get the car. If you have the car shipped by a transport company, be aware that there will be costs and other issues to deal with. Most transport companies don't cover damage to the car in transit. Check if yours does. There may be an extra charge for such protection. Do you homework before you get a car shipped!

Not yet. I am learning to drive at the moment and would love a proper american classic/muscle car. I'll certainly look on eBay for a vintage gem, if I ever pass.

I've never bought a unique car on eBay but by the sounds of what you're saying, its a great option for buyers and sellers of unique vehicles to consider.

I have known people who have purchased a car on eBay and they were very pleased. I don't think I would ever do it but I sure hope you sell a lot from this lens. That would be so much fun to hear about!
