4 Businesses to Start for Less than $50

Updated on March 27, 2015

Many people have a dream of starting a business but they do not have the money required to start one. But the great thing is, there are many businesses out there that you can start with a minimum amount of money, in fact, less than $50. These types of businesses typically require more work on your part than other businesses may, but they are still just as valid.

Another option for many people is to create a blog about something they love. Your costs are to get a custom domain name from a place such as GoDaddy and then set up hosting somewhere such as HostGator. If you are not sure if you are going to like blogging, you may prefer to setup your account somewhere free such as Blogger but a domain is a must. Once your blog is setup, you can add different affiliate links or you can sell products through it. Make sure that your blog is not just a big sales pitch as you will turn people off and no one will end up visiting your site or making a purchase.

Online Stores

There are a lot of people that dream of selling something online and making income from it. But if you are on a tight budget, and want to get a bit creative, there are a few different methods you can use to setup an online store. First, you can create an online store and hook up with a drop shipper. This eliminates the need for you to carry any type of inventory, you just need the site and take the orders and money. You could setup an Ebay store with a drop shipper but keep in mind the different fees that Ebay charges for listing and selling.

Direct Sales

Have you ever attended a home party and wanted to buy all the products that were shown? You may want to consider becoming a consultant with that company. Depending on the company, they may have a way that you can start for less than $50. If they do not have such an option, there is a way around this. Ask your potential upline if they will do a party for you but you get the sales and credit. This can work a few different ways so you will need to talk to your upline to see if they will work with you.

Odd Jobs

Do you have skills that others might hire you for? Maybe you are handy around the house and can fix things? Maybe you enjoy cleaning or organizing a house? How about babysitting or running errands for those that can’t? Chances are if you advertise your services on the local classifieds you will find someone who is willing to hire you to assist them. Your cost here would be the gas to get to these jobs and possibly some equipment.

These are just a few ideas but they should help your brain to spin and come up with ideas of your own if these do not work. Please share what business you have started for less than $50.
