5 Reasons to Shop at Amazon

Updated on August 16, 2013

Why Amazon?

Have you ever wondered why Amazon is so popular and why so many people like to buy things at Amazon? Well, the exact reasons for this success may be difficult to find but here are at least 5 reasons to shop at Amazon.

1. It Is Practical

Let's admit it, shopping on the internet in general and on Amazon in particular is practical. You can buy everything at one place, without having to move from your chair.

Also, Amazon remembers what you bought so that it can recommend things that probably interest you. Typically, if you bought the first 5 seasons of a TV series, you will see the 6th one appear as a recommendation.

Some Examples

Just to show you how varied things you can get from Amazon, here are some items from completely different departments.

Rapidfire Chimney Starter

2. Lots of Choice

No matter the product, Amazon will offer a wide choice to choose from. You will also have the opportunity to compare the products, check user ratings and comments, etc...

Amazon is also good at getting the newest products. Latest books/DVDs, pre-order for items to come, etc....

Search Example

As an example of the wide choice, here are a couple of blenders you can find at Amazon.

3. A Great Source of Inspiration

Looking for a gift? Browse through departments, let you inspire by the bestsellers, etc... Amazon has a dedicated page displaying the most popular products by category updated hourly! Check it out here.

Not sure about a product? Read what other Amazon customers think about the product, check the ratings the products get from people who bought them, etc...

Another great feature of Amazon is the "Look inside" option you have on many books. It lets you have a look inside the book before you make your mind.

Example of the "Look inside" Option

This book about the Kennedy affair has the "Look Inside" option that lets you browse in it before making your mind.

A crucial event which changed the history of America.

4. Great Prices!

You would expect to pay more for so many services but no, Amazon is not charging you for these. On the contrary, Amazon has great prices and offers nice deals every now and then.

One example is the "Gold Box". It proposes new deals every day, including lightning ones. Check it out here.

Deal of the Week

The Deals of the Week (one per category) are great as you are assured to get some items for a small price. One example below.

5. It Is Safe

I am a regular Amazon buyer and I am generally satisfied with the products I get, especially because I always check the reviews from other customers who bought the product etc...Despite this, it happened a couple of times that I had problems with the product (never arrived, not fitting with the description, or once I even changed my mind). So far, I never had any issues getting my money back.

To make things clear, Amazon has even published a customer protection program which should help you if you are not satisfied with a product.
