Updated on October 23, 2014

Building a bigger audience is possible with tools such as backlinks

One of the best ways to get more people or traffic to link to your site is through backlinks. Backlinks are assembled by a writer in a format which not only profits the reader, but also the writer. These are networks of connections from other sites, sources or even articles designed to attract readers to a site or blog from another content resource. It is performed as a choice by the reader and adds something positive to the reading experience if done correctly.

These little puppies have the ability to make a world of difference in getting better traffic sources to material and building bigger audiences. Imagine simply making these small changes to already great content which doesn't effect the writing, but draws in more readers.

Different ways backlinks work in a positive manner

Countless website owners or bloggers discuss how critical backlinks are along with SEO (search engine optimization) and rankings as they apply to search engines. This is true. These little devices are capable of maximizing search engine traffic abundantly with the right plan. In order to get these to work with more power rethink the current strategy being used.

Put a plan in place

Not every plan of action works positively for every website or blog. Develop one unique for your traffic and well for the specific kind of content or material published. This means what works for a blog will not necessarily work for publications on an article site.

After implementing a plan, return to check out the results. Never simply make changes and go about your business thinking everything worked out. Always verify the results desired were indeed achieved. If not, rework the numbers and alter it again and again until you get what you were after.

Do your homework

Analysis of articles through analytics helps to identify which words or phrases are drawing audience members in. Additionally, sources of traffic tell whether or not a page hit comes from a link or other source. Analysis of these before altering anything is a must. Rolling all of these things together bring into focus a detailed plan of action worth taking. This is info needed before making the wrong decision and losing hits on content instead of gaining them.

The primary focus needs to be on the search engine words or phrases initially attracting attention to the work. Not every single one is used for a connection. Yet, draw out the most vital and put focus on these rather than irrelevant words which are filler for articles.

It doesn't require a specialist

Everyone is not a website design specialist. This does not mean wonderful things do not happen with the back links created by the average writer. In fact, too much knowledge is not always a great thing. There is an ongoing discussion of whether a simpler approach by the novice is better than the professional with thousands of hours of research done. The simple concept of backlinks, another website links to you, is something that anyone can develop and is useful to building a better site or blog.

This "number" includes the sites current rank, authority or expertise in the niche and how much traffic is received from the site or blog. YW SM. I loved how you melded manual plus automated concepts to arrive at a holistic strategy. You really have to consider multiple tactics, as the search algorithms look at HTML structure, keyword density, traffic, incoming links, etc. No one single factor will get you high SERP on your keywords. Many SEO companies claim the opposite, like just focus on HTML structure, just get some high PR incoming links, etc. But they are wrong. Very often, I go to these company's web sites, and they have few Google backlinks, low Google PR, and a low Alexa rating. If they can't optimize their own web site, it's amazing they charge minimum fees of about $2,000 for initial SEO work, plus $200 per month for maintenance. For a large client (a web site with alot of pages needing optimization), the fee can easily be five times that. I think there are alot of people in this business that claim to know alot more than they actually do. I'm definitely not an SEO expert, but I really believe there's alot of puffery in this business sector.
