A Business Plan to Make $10,000 per Year Using Hubpages...

Updated on August 26, 2011

Always Good to have a Plan...

So...think it might be possible?

I have read one or two hubs on the subject of making money on Hubpages and have learned that there are a couple of required ingredients to making money (besides having the appropriate advertising widgets). They are:

  • determination
  • persistence (often for years)
  • really really good, well written hubs that folks like to read

To this end it's probably going to be a good idea to have some kind of a plan. After all, if you don't have a plan how will you know that you're on the right track?

Determination

Thinking about it, I'm not even sure if determination is the right word. Maybe that should read obsession, or maybe even addiction.

It looks as though, for my plan to work, I'm going to have to write 2 hubs a day for 8 years.

Hmmmnnnn, now I'm wondering whether I can keep this up. Perhaps I'll get bored really easily and give up after 2 weeks, even though I managed to think up 18 ideas for hubs during my lunch break.

Naturally even if I write all these hubs I've also made some assumptions about how many people I'll need to read them, and they could be way off. Maybe I should leave some time for promoting myself (better not forget to feed the dogs though...or my poor partner).

Persistance

Is that the same as determination?

I wonder if persistence is when you keep going even when the determination has worn off. You keep at it although you've already lost hope of reaching your goal.

Everyone that has had success says not to give up too soon.

Good thing the winter will be coming very shortly and I can cosy up by the fire with the old lap-top.

Really, really good hubs

Well, that could take a bit of practice...

I'll have to:

  • find out what people like
  • check for most searched items
  • put in the right keywords
  • check my spelling
  • add unique photos
  • write more than 700 words (unique ones too)

Right, this could take a few years of practice in itself!!

And the rest

As well as the hubs, there's also all the commenting, answering and asking questions, helping others....etc etc...

This is starting to sound more like work..what happened to sitting on a beach anywhere in the world in my pyjamas and raking in the cash!

The final plan

I've decided that my plan is going to be to write what I feel like writing when I feel like writing it and comment on the things that really interest me.

I'm going to be real and honest and just have fun hanging out with my Hub Buds (is that a real term?)

So if you were looking for a plan that would bring you endless streams of cash, think again and buy a lottery ticket :-)

Just enjoy Yourselves

This was just great! I came to the same conclusion, and I think, in the end, it's the best way to go about doing business on hub pages. I want to enjoy this and be able to write from my heart. To do otherwise is to lose the purpose of loving to write. Voted up and awesome.

My goal is to do a post a day (I have Adsense on 2 Drupal sites, Xomba and Infobarrel) so I think it will take a little bit longer than you to be able to reach just $10,000 a year (from just Hubpages).

LOL My husband keeps buying those lottery tickets. He thinks it's the only way he'll get to retire.

At first you see almost no earnings at Hubpages, but give it time. I am finally making what I consider worthwhile and I've been here a while. Hubs do better as they age and you get more traffic over time. I didn't see good earnings until I had over 50 hubs and some say it takes 100.
