BBA vs ACCA

BBA vs ACCA

BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration):

Bachelor's degree program in business administration/ business studies/ management studies are called by various names by the different universities. However, all are more or less the same course. Bachelor of Business Administration is a 3or, 4 years fulltime course that is designed to give rise to future professionals, rather than mere degree holders.

ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants):

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a British accountancy body which offers the Chartered Certified Accountant qualification worldwide. It is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing accountancy bodies. Time for ACCA varies with number of papers one appears in ACCA exams that is held on June and December. It consists of 14 papers i.e. nine fundamental papers and five professional papers.

COMPARISION - BBA OR ACCA:

ACCA and BBA are two diverse fields which, in my opinion, should not be compared. It is like comparing Football with Rugby or Cricket with Baseball, though similar; yet different.

Dear Misha, through a range of partnerships with several universities, ACCA offers students and members access to graduate and postgraduate level accountancy education.

•The relationship between ACCA and the UK's Oxford Brookes University, has offered ACCA students and members to the Oxford Brookes BSc (Honours) in Applied Accounting, and the online supported MBA.

•According to the agreements between ACCA and Tsinghua University in Beijing (China), Tsinghua will recognise the Oxford Brookes University BSc(Hons) Applied Accounting degree stated as the above, and will accept the graduates from this BSc(Hons) degree program to further study Tsinghua's master degree programs.[18]

      • ACCA and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London have signed a global partnership agreement to enable ACCA’s members and affiliates worldwide to take the SOAS's Postgraduate Diploma in Public Financial Management.

•ACCA has signed the agreement with the University of Cambridge ESOL examinations (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to result in the launch of the International Certificate in Financial English (Cambridge ICFE), a new financial English exam.

•Together with the Said Business School, at the University of Oxford, ACCA offers the Diploma in Financial Strategy, a Masters-level course that provides the essential elements of an MBA for qualified accountants, and is designed to extend knowledge and develop senior management skills.

•ACCA and Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University have signed a joint agreement to enable ACCA Part 3 students, affiliates and members to gain a fast track entry through free-of-charge credit transfer and exemption when they matriculate for the MSc in Financial Management by distance learning or face-to-face study at a global network of centres.

•ACCA partners Exeter University to offer members postgraduate qualifications in leadership (MA degree in leadership).

•Through a range of recognitions by many universities in this world including UK, Hong Kong and Universitas 21 Global, there are the accelerated routes for ACCA members to their master degree programmes.

      Hi Fahd,

ACCA and Oxford Brookes University have worked together to develop a BSc in Applied Accounting, which is available exclusively to ACCA students who wish to obtain a degree while studying towards the ACCA Qualification no matter where ever you study ACCA.

      Thanks

Dear UD,, After BBA Hons you got to apply for your exemptions of papers to ACCA and they will decide what papers you qualify to exempt... I am for sure that you will definitely get F1, F2 & F3 exempted out of 14 papers after your BBA Hons...

Dear Fiaz, No one can guarantee which student can earn more as both subjects have their own scope and earning opportunity...It depends on what level of management are you working at or say capable of working at...If you are at a senior mgmt level obviously you will make more bucks no matter which field you choose for yourselves either ACCA or BBA.

Not at all Mr O. J. Rich both are two different field... BBA a sort of relates to management while ACCA is completely accountancy...

So pals does it mean that ACCA is somehow part of BBA

Mr Saad, It'll be a bit unfair to judge which one is best.. If you are interested in management or want to be a manager then go for BBA or If you are interested in accounts and want to carry out auditing tasks then ACCA will be suitable option..

Since I am doing ACCA, I would rather suggest to go for ACCA as you can even be manager if you do MBA on top of ACCA but you cant audit if you are a BBA graduate.. Hope you find this suggestion useful :)
