Beware Of Snapdeal Online Shopping Portal

This is the recorded conversation between me and Snapdeal Executive (Online Shopping Site).

This Is The Short Story of My Ordeal With Snapdeal

18th of September—I placed an order on Snapdeal (an online portal for placing orders for), regarding Zebronics ZEB VR – Virtual Reality Headset. The order was accepted. I received a confirmation regarding the same. I was promised that it will be delivered within 5 days.

19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd – Snapdeal people kept on messaging that my product is ready to be delivered.

25th – I received a message that Snapdeal courier partner has tried to deliver it in my office but I was not there. This is a white lie. One can check my office register and also my biometrics thumb impression machine that I have not taken a single leave.

26th – I enquired about the product. They again promised that they will deliver it within 3 days.

29th – I enquired. They again rescheduled it to deliver the next 3 days.

These 3-day excuses never ended. In the meanwhile, I asked them to arrange a call from the courier service. They promised but never called.

Finally, I asked them to give their courier partner’s number. They gave me the number, but it was an invalid number.

I kept on waiting till 6th of October. All this while, neither they nor their courier partner bothered to call or drop a message to me.

6th October – I again called them and enquired about the product. They told me it is canceled. I asked why they have not informed me. They have no answer. They messaged me that delivery of your package could not be completed due to which your order has been cancelled. No further action is required from your end.

My dilemma was that I have ordered the VR Headset remote controller from Flipkart. Flipkart was very prompt in its service like Amazon and they delivered it to me within 2 days. Now, it is lying useless with me.

2 years back, my sister ordered a 25-liter geyser from Snapdeal. What she received was a 15-liter geyser. She politely asked them to replace it. They said they have no pickup option. She needs to repack it and deliver it in their warehouse. She requested them that due to convenience purpose people order online but Snapdeal was not ready and refused to collect it. My sister has no option but to keep that useless 15-liter geyser. She has stopped using Snapdeal forever.

I again faulted on believing that this company Snapdeal has mend its ways, but no it is the same old one at harassing customers.

So there are 2 things dealing with Snapdeal.

  1. Either they may or may not bother you beforehand.
  2. If something goes wrong, then pray to god before believing that Snapdeal is going to help you out.

There are a few very good online portals here in India like Flipkart and Amazon. They have great sales and support team. Their courier partners are also on-time. So, if you really want to have a smooth and convenient experience, then go with Flipkart or Amazon and avoid Snapdeal.

To My Horror!

It puzzled me further, when I received a message from the courier partner of this site the next day of my cancellation confirmation. The message states that they are going to attempt delivery in the next 24 hours. I mean what is this. The company is stating that the courier partner has returned the product to them, but the courier partner is messaging me to deliver it. How come there is so much contradiction. Anyway, if the sale support is so poor, one can imaging the after-sale service support.

It is better to stay away from these sites and go for the time and tested ones. I hope to just warn people to not go through the ordeal which I went.

Have a safe and convenient shopping experiencing. Stay away from Snapdeal of India.

      You sounded very calm on your video. I don't know if I could have remained as such. Good advice to only order from reputable sites. It will save people lots of anxiety.
