When promoting a website, cost effective advertising is best.

Advertising on the internet can be a very "Hit and Miss" affair. Some programs offer you real value for very little outlay. Others seem to be primarily designed to line some already wealthy individuals’ pockets. Finding cost effective advertising is one of the most frustrating, and difficult things to achieve before making sales on the internet. I have learned that to my cost over time. It is to my fellow victims of online scamming that I dedicate this little article, devoted to effective internet advertising.

It is a source of constant amazement to me, how foolish I was when I first started trying to trade on the internet.

The amount of money that I might as well have just flushed down the drain, would have probably have got me a new car, or at least a holiday of a lifetime.

You all know the type of thing I mean. Man in suit offers you chance to earn $100,000 per week if you sign up to his fabulous offer; or rather attractive girl tells you that she can’t wait to let you in on the secrets of her success, but "please send twenty five dollars first". What a swiz they all are. They are just trying to line their own pockets; but it takes a while for that message to sink home.

Effective advertising is one of the most difficult things to get in internet trading.

Traffic exchanges offer you millions of website visitors; text ad exchanges do the same. They all offer you "free membership". But if you really want the traffic you must upgrade. That, of course costs money. Their traffic is probably useless anyway, because all the other members are doing exactly what you are doing, clicking on programs to try and get credits to get their own ads shown. A never ending Pantomime really.

Some really dishonest websites.

There are several things about some internet advertising websites that really annoy me. One of the most infuriating is the website that seems not to want to let you go when you try to click away. You will all have come across this particular type. The little pop up appears asking you to click cancel on the next window, so they can offer you the product at a lower price; or you get a message saying "a live agent wants to speak to you with a very special offer". How irritating that all is. When I click to leave a site it is because I want to go. Delaying me at my work is never going to sell me anything.

Another type of website that really "Gets my Goat “is the really long advertisement that repeats itself endlessly, and then caps it all with a series of testimonials from people who claim to have become really rich after using the product. I don’t have time to wade through all that rubbish. One more thing that I really can’t stand is websites with videos that clamour at you to watch them. I wish people would just write what they have to say. Why can't advertisers just simply set out their wares clearly, and with little fuss? Then people can make intelligent choices, and get some effective advertising.

From the foregoing rant, I guess that you think that I am a really difficult person to please. I'm not that bad really. It's just that I like quick results, and I like my advertisements to be concise and accurate. Splash pages are good as well. I like them short, although I do like those best when the price is displayed. The more information is conveyed with the minimum of writing the happier I will be.

The absolute worst kind of advertisement is the one that offers you "absolutely free" membership. After you sign up you discover that the only thing free is the membership; to get any benefit from being in their club it is necessary to buy some of their overpriced products. That is fraud in my book, and it really shouldn’t be allowed.

There are some quite honest operators out there however. It is a matter of hit and miss trying to find them. One of the best ways I find to check up on a program is to type the name into your address bar with "Scam" attached. If it is dodgy you are sure to come across some damming posts from those who were had before you.

However you operate, don’t get depressed, and keep trying. Remember, in internet advertising, perseverance is the surest way to success.
