Drive traffic to your articles and blogs

Updated on June 19, 2010

Working on the internet can be a successful journey if you are determined to make it successful. I know we read everywhere ‘EARN THOUSANDS A DAY ONLINE...MAKE MILLIONS AT HOME....'and all that and yes there is some truth to that. Money is virtually endless on the internet but most of us will actually have to work for it, it's not free as many would lead you to believe. I mean don't get me wrong some have had quick success online and earned a bundle in a short amount of time, and hey I mean that's great. So for the rest of us here are some of my tips for driving more traffic to your site and ultimately earning your more cash.

Okay so there are some obvious tactic's but for those of you who are new I'll fill you in. First of all on every hub page you write it will give you the share option, right near the bottom of the page. Clicking that option allows you to instantly share with a huge choice of audiences. Read the list if you haven't signed up for any of the social book-marking sites do so right away, in fact sign up for as many as you can. See the link below for additional social book-marking sites.

If you have a blog use it to promote your hubs and use your hubs to promote your blog. Always add the link module when writing a hub and include your links to other hub, blogs and other sites you may be writing for. Let people know you have more out there, let them know you have a lot to offer.

Once you have signed up for book-marking sites and have submitted to everyone of them, remember to do that with everything you write and publish. Next if you have a website promoting yourself or a product or business remember to keep it updated and link everything to that page. Make sure there are profiles of you people want to know whose stuff they are reading, it makes it more personal. Email friends, family and who ever your blog posts and links to your hubs.

Another very effective way of driving traffic is by offering a free news letter, this allows you to generate a mailing list. People will sign up often just because it's free. You can create a news letter once a week or once a month. Make it about one subject or summarize all you articles for that week or month giving only blurbs and linking to the rest.

Forums are a great way not only to gain traffic but it also allows you to communicate with others like your self. The forum at hubpages of course gives you a chance to meet and greet other hubbers gaining you traffic and fans and maybe even some friends. Using forum's in other places will help as well.

If you have a blog submit it to blog directories this will generate traffic because on some of these sites they will actually keep a log of your most recent blog posts, just remember to submit post to sites that are not automatic. Chatting and commenting with other bloggers will also gain traffic and usually other bloggers will share tips and strategies of how and where they are gaining their traffic.

Just remember here at hub pages they drive a lot of traffic for you but still you have to put some effort to. Submit to social book-marking sites, updates your blog and web site regularly. Write good content and traffic will fall in your lap, keep good tags and make your writing matter, not to the world but to you. Once you care about what your writing then others will too. Don't write crap and you can earn a decent income one day. Keep writing, submitting, emailing and make your words count and traffic will come.
