Free Internet Success

Updated on March 7, 2019

What Does Free Really Mean?

What does free really mean? "You need to spend money to make money" is a generic, yet accurate phrase we have all heard as kids. Most sites that tell you that you can do something for free usually has a fee, trial, or membership attached to it. If you don't pay attention, then you could be paying membership fees for months before you realize it, just because you didn't know to cancel it.

Very few sites are actually free, there are a few, but not many are left. Luckily hubpages is still aroud, however, triond is not. Triond was also a free writing site that paid, gave badges and awards, so is a free site really going to be around long enough to make you any real money?

Adult Sites

Adult sites are another way to make money, much more quickly than writing online, but they is a major catch. It is never free to buy or start an adult website. Most range from $400 - $3,000, and that's just for the basic website. Spend it to make it, do you see a trend here yet?

Writing In General

Writing in general has it's downside. It is tedious and monotonous no matter how you look at it, which makes it an extremely daunting task. Authors make a living at it, but they get advances, as well as, deadlines that are months out. They have time to write for bigger checks, plus royalties. Cashing big checks sounds like a dream, but there is a lot of work that goes into it. Months of research on myths and facts, you have to be dedicated to have the time to earn the 5 and 6 figure checks, ask yourself if you are, then have at it.

Online writers, however, have to contend with different subjects, not just their knowledge and expertise. They also have to contend with pay per click and pay per view advertising to make money. People can view you articles all day long, but most of the time you won't get paid unless you allow paid advertising. Google had good tools for this, "Google AdSense" and "Google Analytics". Just remember, to have great tools, you have to put some work into your craft!

The Internet

One good thing about online writing is, you have an entire World Wide Web of information to write about. So, get out they and make your own rules on your own time. Have fun and Write a Story!

Sites to Look Out For!

The sites that you need to look out for are the ones that asked for credit card information, but says you won't be charged. 9 out of 10 times you will be charged, and you won't figure that out for months. And just so you know, they will NOT reimburse that money they took from you. So BE CAREFUL!

Conclusion: Making A Living!

To make a living at writing, even online, you not only have to have talent, you also need to be very creative. If you have a wildly vivid imagination, the possibilities are limitless.

When I first started out, I had a great imagination, but didn't know how to put it into words. Now I'm writing on Hubpages, plus trying out a few other writing sites. I also started writing a book a while back, that here sometime soon I should have it completed. I would love to not work a full time job just because of writing, but that's not realistic unless I spend a lot of money to get started and I can't afford that right now, so I need to start out small.

Did you know, most publishing agencies charge you first before you can even send in your work for them to look at. The range I found is $2,000 to $5,000 just to get the process started. That's a lot of money, but I believe it will happen someday.

I am just starting small, then working my way up! Just remember, if your passionate about writing, do what is necessary, but in an honest way, to succeed. Write a book, get it published, learn to enjoy life. All the work will be worth it in the end when your getting major money for your #1 bestseller. Just start at the bottom, unless you have the proper connections, and work your way up. Yes, it will take time, but if your not paying anything to start out, then you've got nothing to lose, Right?! Hubpages is the perfect place to start, have fun and enjoy!

So, get out there and Tell Us A Story!!
