Work at Home & make money!

Updated on August 5, 2013

Free Information?

1. No cost to join any of the offers or at least I don't know of any.

2. You will not get rich. You will not make thousands of dollars a week. You can make a few dollars to a few hundreds a week. It depends on how well you do it and how much time you are willing to work. If you only work a few hours you will make a little, if any, if you work it like a full time job you could earn full time pay. Some are work as you want and some are actual jobs.

3. Everybody gets something for referrals - even Squidoo! Not required to mention me, but appreciated where appropriate.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY- I want to help others find legitimate online jobs that don't cost them money to join. If I were to charge for my services I would be taking money from you that you probably really need. I don't think it's right to charge someone for information they could get for free if you were to spend the time researching it yourself. (which you should STILL DO- please check, verify & be sure!)

Love my job
Love my job

Why am I doing this for free?

Because it IS Free! I found the information online for free - somewhere - somehow! Maybe someday I will be paid back with money from all my websites and online work, maybe not. But I can sleep at night knowing I am not taking money from someone who is trying to find a job to feed their children. I don't know about you but that crosses a line for me. Yeah I want to make money, yeah I want to work at home or not at all, but I will not rip people off to do it. Besides every scam folds and then you have to come up with a new one! I am just not that creative! ha ha!!

My goal is to find a means of earning money that I will not hate doing every day, not just tolerate doing it, but to actually ENJOY my work! OMG!! Yes I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up & its been really hard. I am halfway thru 2 degrees and realized I don't want to do that work! I have had several different types of careers and perhaps the company wasn't a good fit. I just know that I really don't want to keep doing what I have done! So the search goes on.

Who Can Do This?

This position Requires:

Are you able to go in a room and close the door and work for 2-4 hours without interruption? Are there members of your household that would not allow you to work uninterrupted? Some WAH jobs are JOBS that would require this dedication. Can you work without co-workers to talk to? It sounds easy, but it isn't always so simple.

Space to work at home - depending on the job or assignment you may need a private room in your house or just a space to work in.

Ability to work at home - kids, pets and spouses are a big distraction. Some jobs require you to treat it like the office.

Can you focus and stay on task when at home? Some people can't, but not all jobs require 8 hours at a stretch either.

Comfortable and familiar with using computers and learning new programs.

Must be 18 or older, fluent in English, US mailing address and authorized to work in the US.

A high speed internet connection, computer with specific requirements varies by company.

Work-From-Home Tips

Avoid burn out:

1. Have a plan-schedule number hours you will work.

2. Take a break- eat lunch, walk around the block or whatever.

3. Treat yourself like an employee, not like a friend.

4. Be realistic are you looking to make money or play online?

5. If this is for money, treat it as serious as a job. If it is a WAH job, don't be late!

You laugh! people have been fired for this!

Be flexible, stay motivated, give it a chance and have fun.

Although your normal phone charges may apply, ChaCha does not charge any fees for text or voice mail questions. Text to 242242 or call 1-800-2ChaCha (242 242).

So I'm shopping for furniture the other day and I don't remember the address of the store I want to go to. I send the text "Address & Ph # for Overstock Furniture" to 242242. (be sure to include the city & state)

A text response comes back to let me know they received it and that I will receive an answer shortly. A few minutes later I receive an answer with the address and phone number to the store I am trying to find. Now if I didn't know how to get there from where I was I could text again for directions.

Then it's lunchtime and I am hungry so I text ChaCha again and ask if there is a mexican restaurant near me. The response comes back that there is a Qdoba down the street and I happen to know that is an awesome restaurant.

Maybe you are wondering when a concert is going to happen. In Wisconsin we have Summerfest and Country USA both of which have several big name headliners. So if I text ChaCha and ask for the names of the bands planned for this summer. Within 10 minutes or less someone will send a text back with the information.

ChaCha is seeking smart, savvy people with strong general knowledge of web search and research, for a fun and flexible position helping consumers with wide-ranging (sometimes irreverent) reference questions. If you enjoy learning new things, finding answers on the Internet, and helping others get the information they need, then ChaCha may have a job for you!

ChaCha is accepting applicants again, - oh wait now they aren't - oops yes they are! It can change daily so check often. ChaCha allows any Guide to refer up to 40 new applicants. So you can refer your friends and they can join your team. You make 10% of what they make and its not coming out of their check.

They are particularly seeking applicants who can work late night hours, when volume is high and earning potential is strong. All hours day or night are available. Sign on whenever you have some free time, 15 minutes or 15 hours! You can do this from anywhere with internet access.

Love researching online. Fluent in English, Excellent writing skills, High-speed Internet connection you choose your hours - Flexible hours (work anywhere with a PC and internet access-anytime you want!)

"real job" inbound calls

This is a call center job. You take inbound calls from established customers and using the equipment, software and tools provided by the client then troubleshoot and resolve the issue caller has. Callers may be upset, irritable, or even outright angry. Must be able to stay calm, cool and collected at all times. Being able to diffuse the situation and not take it personally is key to succeeding.

This company has several 'brick' sites and is currently hiring 300 agents for home & brick positions! Once you choose a HOME or OFFICE position, you must stick to it, they don't allow you to switch. I worked for them for over 4 years now and it is a pretty good company to work for. The benefits are actually pretty good. I worked at an actual office, but I know several people who work from home and enjoy it. There are locations all over the US and even around the world. I won't promote my location, because I disagree with my location's management style. For more information check out Convergys website.

Yes just like this

I could never do Squidoo justice, but I can say I have received payments from Squidoo even when I didn't change my lens for several months! I think that says enough right there. I have a few lens - you can see in my bio how many. I haven't done much since I initially created them.

I have not added hundreds like some do, they probably make more than me too! Ha ha, I really hope they do! For details use the cupcake image but better yet use this link and it will walk you thru making a lens. Don't worry you can make a million changes to it as you learn more, or if its one you hate you can sell it or delete it!

I prefer the wireless mouses and the extended mouse pad. I always seem to fall off the mouse pad...

More to come

There is always more ways to make money from home & online. There are even several ads posted on the right column of this lens, I don't know if those work or if they cost anything. I just wanted to post several options for people who are looking. I have spent hours - weeks looking and received more junk mail than I care to talk about. Hopefully it will help someone.

I am searching for more WAH opportunities to add to this. Please send me an email or post to the lens. I will be glad to try them all, but they must be free.

Please leave a message at the tone... - Beep!
