Home Based Direct Sales Gourmet Business

Updated on July 16, 2011

Do you like the idea of running a home based business? Do you enjoy food and cooking? Does the idea of combining your love of food with a work at home opportunity appeal to you? You'll be glad to learn that there are several direct sales companies that utilize independent consultants in exactly this capacity!

Working as a Gourmet Direct Sales Rep

When you sign on as an independent representative for a gourmet food company, you'll be able to start building your home based business right away. One of the great things about this particular type of job opportunity is that you can choose to work as much or as little as you want.

Each direct sales company has minimum production or ordering requirements that consultants must meet to remain active, but that's about it. There's no requirement to work a certain number of hours. The more you work, the more opportunity you have to build your business, but the decision to do so is completely up to you.

Typically, consultants who represent gourmet food companies usually market their products in a variety of ways, earning commission on items sold. The most common ways of marketing these types of gourmet food products are marketed through home parties, catalogs, the Internet, trade shows, and personal selling.
