Internet marketing and advertising solutions can give the desired output result, if properly implemented with respect to your promotional tactics. In simple language, traffic is directly proportional to the rate of change of promotions and method of advertisement. Before I proceed further, let’s quickly take a look at the definition of marketing.

What is Marketing?

Simply defined, marketing is the whole lot you do to place your product and/or service in the hands of prospective customers, consumers or patrons. In this article, some of the dos and don’ts of marketing will be discussed. As in any project, there has to be a reason for using the technique or process to achieve the desired result.

Why is marketing important to you as an entrepreneur?

Marketing is an integral part of any business. Without marketing, the entrepreneur product or services is as good as useless. Marketing as a whole entails several steps and factors that can make or mar any entrepreneur, as with any business with blueprint. Few of the marketing factors are philosophy, environment, sales, public relations, pricing, packaging, and distribution, product (or Service), price, promotion, place, personal Selling, marketing information, buying behavior, segmentation, targeting and positioning, product strategy, pricing, channels of distribution, logistics, advertising, sales promotion and public, selling and sales management, direct marketing, customer relationship management, marketing information and research. This is not a lecture or seminar on the fundamentals of marketing, but I believe it’s good to know why and how marketing came to play.

Product and/or services marketing has come a long way, starting from the times and days of marketing items and/or products from door-to-door. The world has revolutionized. The superhighway have open doors to infinite opportunities for entrepreneurs, and I believe there is no time better than now to take ultimate advantage of the generous opportunity of the internet. To get the best of every product and/or services advertised, it has to be treated as such.

According to intensive research, the techniques mentioned below should assist any potential entrepreneur in getting the desired traffic.

1. Offer Tutorials - Offering free tutorials on how to do things seem to be one of the fastest growing ways to generate traffic to Web sites to day. Visit to get started today.

2. Google Business Package –If you need instant traffic to your web site, Google Adwords is one of the easiest and cheapest way to get started. This service is not free.

3. Use a Contest –Duplicate success. Learn from the pros. Do exactly what they do. It does not hurt to try.

4. Ad Swaps - Find someone in your niche industry that has already built their list up to about 500-1000. Exchange your contacts list and market to them.

5. Twitter Traffic - Re-tweet good articles and people will reciprocate.

6. Coupons - Offer coupons on your products or services. Stand out! Make your service affordable and you'll be glad you did.

8. Tag Your Videos and Articles - Sometimes I wonder why people find it difficult to tag their articles and blogs. Tagging is a great tool that works for me all the time. You should try it also. It does not hurt to try it.

9. Content Aggregators - This is a simple but very powerful tool that aid or assist you i getting tons of free traffic.

Always go for quality. Home business internet marketing is a full time job; you must be willing to take it as a job. If you start your business as a hobby, it will forever be a hobby. If you start your business as a business, it will always be a business. Affiliate internet marketing is another means to which you could generate several potential clients, when you act as a marker or lead between the consumer and the seller. To strengthen your marketing skills, always go for the jugular, always aim for the best, because quality is better than quantity. Be adaptable, be flexible to your environment, be ready for change(s), be prepared for the unexpected. Take up a administration course, read e-books on revenues and income, go to the library, meet people, get involved in your community, and most importantly, be proud of your achievements, reward yourself for taking the bold step to success.

Every potential entrepreneur is faced with challenges, especially home business plus internet marketing, some are very disappointing while some are much of a problem. Make an effort to create a brand for yourself. Always be open to feedback and criticism.
