How Properly Format Your Resume or C.V. For Call Center Jobs

A C.V is what you use to sell yourself to the company that you are applying for.
As you have read in the last two posts about how to get past the first interview to get a job, and how to get a sales job. I like to focus on what will help you get a job because I have been helping people getting jobs for over 2.5 years.
In times like this economic recession you need every advantage over your competitors to make sure that you get the same job that over 50 applicants are applying for.
The first step before you actually get the interview is to make sure that your resume sells you properly to the employer.
In this post we are going to give you a few templates that you can use to make sure you get the right job.
A few tips for your CV:
Email: Do not have silly email or an embarrasing email address. Either use firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com, try to stop acting like a child or a movie buff. Email addresses like firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Telephone: If you have a cell phone make sure that your voice mail is not silly. Have a professional voice mail message, don't have Homer Simpson on your voicemail and don't have rap or crunk music playing in the background whilst the phone is being connected.

In the personal statement you want to add information about yourself. Usually in a paragraph. It is okay to talk in the third person here. Below is an example of what to add in your personal statement:
A well presented and adaptable graduate, with solid qualifications and a comprehensive skill-set, underpinned by work experience in environments demanding self- motivation and a focused approach. I am capable of working without supervision, and willing to assume additional responsibility. A committed team player with leadership ability, who uses high standards of communication aptitude to establish positive interpersonal relationships, quick and willing to assimilate and apply new work procedures.
I am an enthusiastic and a highly motivated individual with a thirst to learn and develop my skills. I am energetic, determined individual. I possess a good sense of humour and excellent interpersonal skills, while my determination and enthusiasm to learn means I put utmost effort in all I do.
This is the section where you want to talk about your skills. The below example is great because it is in bullet proof format.
- Excellent interpersonal,
- Management and strong communication skills.
- Calming nature facilitates the situation when under pressure,
- Ability to manage change
IT Skills Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, database and competent with using the Internet.
Leadership I was the student reprehensive for two years which involved helping other students as well as keeping up with my assignments.
Language I am multilingual, fluent in English, Guajarati, Urdu and Punjabi.
This is the section where you want to discuss the educational institutes that you have attended. No need to discuss the actual grades that you achieved. Dates are important because they help fill in the gaps of where you have been.

Distributors for soft drinks and confectionary carrying out various responsibilities including filing, typing letters, responding to mail, producing estimates/quotations for contracts. Other duties including answering the telephone and dealing with customer queries and complaints offering an excellent service to ensure customers are content at all times. Generating sales leads.

I worked in a busy office environment I rang customers up to check if they received there kitchen appliance if they did get them on time and asked the customer to see if they had any problems if they did I rang up the engineer up and send them to the customers house and then inform the customer when the engineer was going to come.

Waiter / Customer Service
I worked in a busy team sometimes under pressure, providing quality of service for customers. It also gave me immense opportunity to improve my interpersonal and communication skills. I was also able to make vast use of my multilingual skills. It gave me a chance to communicate with the customers on a personal level in return gain repeat business.
Aug 2003 – April 2005

Working for this debt company gave me a chance to enhance my skills in an office related environment. The job involved updating and building a database for previous and new potential customers. Other duties included inputting data, typing letters, faxing and liaising with clients over the phone. The majority amount of the work was spent on the computer and the phone.
March 1999 – June 2003
Company 5 Ltd
My work as a telemarketer required me to communicate with a diverse range of people, some of whom represented difficult challenges. I refined my communication skills to the point where I was nearly always able to smooth ruffled feathers, solve problems, and provide satisfaction to customers.
All of my work experiences have involved working within a team based culture. This involved planning, organisation, co-ordination and commitment e.g. call centre, this ensured daily sales target were met, a fair distribution of tasks and effective communication amongst all staff members.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
Sport: I believe ahealthy body is the key to the focused mind in today’s hectic society. Enjoy a range of sports and outdoor activities which require high level of dedication and motivation.
Living Life: We only get one shot at this life so I aim to get most out of it, as well as travelling to different countries I enjoy learning about different culture, backgrounds and new languages.
First Aid qualified.
Ideally I would like to be in a dynamic environment for a company where there is scope for promotion and training, working my way through the organisation. My educational background and work experiences have enabled me to enhance and develop new skills that I believe have equipped me to pursue a career for your organisation.
