Advertising Ideas

Word of Mouth: Whether times are great, or times are hard, word of mouth is one of the best ways to advertise. If you do a great job for someone, the greatest form of flattery is word of mouth. It is free and this is a great resource. Always look your customers in the eye, be very nice and work hard and fast. Never take this lightly because, in the long run word of mouth is going to make you or break you. Besides word of mouth, being friendly, and also telling your friends and family to support your business endeavors will go along ways towards accomplishing your goals.

E-mails: At the end of every email that you send, when you sign your name be sure to mention your company as well as your title. In the business that we have which consists of painting, handyman type work along with, final sales cleans and pressure washing, you always want to be sure to throw your name out there every time that you can. Another way that we will advertise by email, is to send an actual email to real estate agents to let them know what services that we offer. The final sales clean are the final cleaning of a house after it has been sold. Some houses are left clean but, there have been many houses that we have cleaned, have been quite dirty.

Social Networking: Internet now a days is a no brainer when it comes to advertising. You should use the Internet to your advantage, free of charge. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, ebay, Craigslist, American Classifieds, Yellow Pages and Linked are great ways to advertise online for free. It is crazy not to take advantage of these free web sites. With everyone on the internet now a days, social networking has made a huge difference in the way that we think of advertising. This is the future of all advertising so make sure and utilize the internet. Many of the best sites are free to use and advertise your business on. Searching out these sites can really make a difference in advertising and in business.

Billboards: Billboards are a great way to advertise. You have to consider that this would be something that you would have to pay for. A great location would be next a busy road or interstate. If you can afford such a sign, I say go for it! Getting your name and logo is the only way your are going to get calls. This is a gigantic way to get you name noticed. Different sizes are available and the larger the sign the more investment you will have to make.

Poster board or Foam Signs: If you have an artist in the family or someone who is good at drawing the block or bubble letters then, you can make some signs at home. Purchase some white, green or yellow poster board and come up with what you would like your advertisement to say. Then you use black permanent markers to fill in the letters. Now, you can take these signs and hang them around town. We have figured out where we can leave signs up the longest by trial and error. Sometimes in the city in the busiest intersections you can get a sign left up 2-3 weeks. If it's a busy enough area, you could get several calls.

Business Cards: A simple business card is very professional and can be left in many places around town. For example, you can leave them at gas pumps, in dressing rooms, restaurants and just people who you come in contact with that may ask you about your business. You get over 1000 business cards for under twenty dollars. This remains one of the cheapest ways to advertise. You can leave them at the gas pumps, at restaurants, any where you go.

Cold Calling: This is a more challenging way of doing business. Which is simply to pick up the phone and start calling businesses as well as individuals to offer/advertise your services. Some people prefer not advertise in this manner. You may want to note, some people are not going to appreciate this type of call. Be prepared to have some thick skin. You might find that perfect customer from this way of advertising but, you might have to make several phone calls before getting the first one.

Advertising in Local Newspaper, Magazine or TV: When the business has grown large enough to support advertising on a larger scale such as, the local television station, the local newspaper and the who's, who's magazine in your city, it is important to come up with an add that has a eye catching logo and/or slogan, that is unique to your company.

Advertising at the local ball fields: The local ball fields have a lot of traffic and if the fans are in the stands they can't help but, stare past the kids and focus in on the advertisers. Who knows? They may look at your sign all season, then when ball is over and they have more time, they just might call you.

Advertising with car magnets: There are very nice magnets that can be purchased from (Vista Print-is who we use), placed on the sides of the cars and trucks that you own. Each time that you or your family member goes to town they are a rolling advertisement.
