If you have tried to optimize your website or blog, you can agree with me that the whole process is really a tricky one. Search programs keep updating their ranking algorithms which makes the optimization process more confusing.

It took me a couple years to properly master the techniques of search engine optimization. Today, I am happy I get SEO right for my blogs and websites. Any content that I post online seems to rank top in SERPs.

In this article, I will show you how to create SEO-friendly titles, urls, summaries, body copy and more. If you own an online business, you will definitely find this article helpful. Remember, with search engine-friendly pages, you will be able to get high traffic on your website and attract more customers to buy your products or services.

In brief, how to create a SEO-friendly title, URL, summary and body copy.

1. Create a brief & accurate title.

2. Create a simple & easy-to-read URL.

3. Write an informative & interesting summary.

4. Write a unique & quality body copy.

5. Use images & videos.

6. Include suitable internal & external links.

7. Include social links.

1. Create a Brief and Accurate Title- Great for a SEO-Friendly Page

A title of around 60 characters is termed brief and the most suitable. Let the title describe the content accurately- make it relate well with the content. Since title words appear in search results, ensure you put your content keyword(s) in the heading.

2. Create a Simple and Easy-to-Read URL

You should create a URL that is relevant to your content. Let it have words that show what the page is all about. Make it simple and easy-to-read to enable internet users understand and remember it with much ease.

Like titles, URLs appear in search results. You should therefore include your keyword(s) in the URL to make it more search engine-friendly.

3. Write an Informative and Interesting Summary

A summary describes what a page is all about. A well written summary attracts internet users to read the entire content. You should therefore make your summary more informative and interesting.

A summary is also displayed in search results. You should therefore make it search engine-friendly by including your keywords in it.

Note, do not stuff your summary with keywords to avoid it being categorized by search programs as a spam and consequently getting penalized (its rank lowered).

4. Write a Unique and Quality Body Text

When writing your main text, you should have in mind that people are moving online to get unique information that can solve their problems. Do not make your content appear general: make it fresh and high quality by covering your topic fully.

Internet users love to spend time on a well-written and easy-to-read content. You should therefore avoid spelling and grammatical mistakes as much possible. Improve the readability of your text by including short paragraphs and bulleted lists.

Use keywords and keyphrases wisely throughout. It is recommended to include them in the opening, middle and closing paragraphs. Importantly, do not stuff them to avoid being penalized.

Include body tags (headings), such as H1, H2 & H3, to also improve the readability of your text. Ensure you put keyterms in the tags, especially the H1 and H2.

You can also include anchor text and meta descriptions in your content. If you decide to include them, try to make them descriptive, concise and relevant.

Make use of meta tags at the botton your text. These tags should include relevant keyterms and can feature the title and anchor text.

When it comes to word count, I recommended at least 500 words. I have seen pages with more than this word count rank well on Google.

5. Use Images and Videos - Good for a SEO-Friendly Page

Images and videos make a page more media-rich, which is one of the things that search engines look for when crawling on the web. Let the images and videos be well spread- from the top to the bottom.

Include ALT text, filenames and descriptions alongside your images and videos. This will make the crawlers understand them better.

6. Include Suitable Internal and External Links

In case you didn’t know, internal links point to other pages on the same website while external links point to pages on other websites. The information you are linking to should be relevant to the information on your page.

Make the clickable text (anchor text) descriptive and concise for search engines and readers to understand it. If you decide to include Adlinks, try to moderate them.

7. Include Social Links

Social media has become an important SEO technique. If you have social media accounts, you can include their links on your page.

Ensure that you have at least Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest links on your website/blog. Google and other search engines favor content with social signals.
