How to Find the Perfect Mentor

"At almost any career stage, just about everyone needs a mentor." A mentor is an advisor. Someone who is trusted and experiences in your field or industry. They support you in all areas of your career. They are there to assess your strengths and weaknesses, show you knew resources and show you the tricks of the trade. They are there to help you find your vision, your passion and to clarify your goals.

When most people start their online businesses, 9 times out of 10 they feel that they can do it all on their own. The truth is that everyone needs someone to help improve their skills and their knowledge.

Choosing a Mentor

When you are choosing a mentor, it is important to choose a person who is where you want to be. Someone who believes in your potential. Someone you relate to and has qualities that you admire and skills that you want to learn.

Finding a Mentor that you connect with really comes down to a few things.

  • Be organized, be prepared, be consistent. Be respectful of the time your mentor is giving you.
  • Choose a person who has been where you are. Someone who has some experience in your business.
  • Fine someone who is well connected.
  • Choose someone you know and click with.
  • a Mentor should be a good listener
  • Clarify what you want, Define your purpose
  • select someone who is straight with you. Good or bad.
  • Show them gratitude. Thank your mentor for their time and assistance.

It really wasn't until I came across my first mentor that the full vision of what I wanted. All the little pieces that I had to this huge puzzle started to come together. My vision really started to become clear. With my newest mentors, my vision is crystal clear. There are no questions about the direction that I am going in. They have helped me lay the blueprint for not only my business but my vision to help others find their way in their businesses.FYI: You can have more than one mentor. Your mentors can changes with the stages of your business. You should always continue to scale up.

Keep in mind that a mentor is there to guide you in the right direction. What you choose to do with the information that they give you is strictly up to you. Implement what they are telling you into their business. Your success ultimately comes down to you. Find the mentor that fits your needs and take your business to the next level.
