When making a potential sales list it is important to look in areas with a higher income but, not even so much for the reason that you may think but, also, you will want to make sure that the area that you are marketing to is a high traffic area. Selling in today's market is hard to say the least. So, it is important to find locations near malls, and it is the sidebig businesses or even near nice subdivisions. Locating areas of high traffic and also try to find a local area newspaper, classifieds, local magazine or now a days with the internet and social media, there should be no shortage of ways to advertise your product.
When trying to reach a higher clientele it is important to use television and bill boards. With this age of mass media, it would be crazy to not utilize the free sources of advertising such as, Google Business and Yahoo to name a couple. Also, sending mailers out to potential customers is a smart move. In my experience some people may find mailers annoying but, there's always one or two that will be interested in what you have. Another good marketing strategy is to include discounts, company information and maybe even a free item with your company logo on it. Some examples of these items are: Ink pens, note pads, magnets and key chains. It goes without saying, to always give out business cards to everyone you meet. Trust me, over time it works. The first thing to starting a company is to get your name out there. Then you have to do a great job with your customers.
Appearance is a very important part of the professionalism that some prospective clients are looking for. A first impression is hard to take back. What someone first thinks about your appearance it will always stay with them. Be sure to look confident and portray complete professionalism and proper manners. Make a great first impression and try to catch the eye of clients and customers alike.
State The Facts
It's nice to try to hype up or spice up what you are selling. Today's customer doesn't want all that. Today's customer just wants to know the price and what is so good about what you are selling. Let clients know all vital information about your company, product or service without making them feel bored. Get them involved in the sale. Ask them what they are looking for. The attitude from today's consumer is...what can it do for me or how can this benefit me? If you keep these two thoughts in the back of your mind, you will be able to talk to most anyone.
Polls & Other Tests
Polls, tests, quizzes and other data determine what the consumer wants. Pure and simple. If you are not able to deliver what the consumer or the customer wants then there will be no sales. This can let you know what areas to target for a certain product. Investigate different divisions of your company. It is a wonderful idea to find out what the consumer thinks. Ask people directly, by internet, phone or mail their opinions on a variety of subjects. Keep this data as it will be important for the near future.
Word of Mouth
Word of mouth has been and always will be one of the top advertising methods. When you satisfy a customer, then that customer is more than likely going to tell someone else. Just remember the highest form of flattery is a kind word said about you or the truly highest form of flattery is a referral.
If you are wanting to attract a prospective customer or sale a service, you must first learn how to sell yourself. If you want your company's potential employees to be impressed then, it is important that you stay professional at all times.
Do not put pressure on yourself, your potential clients or even your associates. Part of showing confidence is being cool, calm and relaxed. If the product or service is of good quality then there should be no worries or pressure put on the sale. Remember the bottom line is: If a customer wants a product or service bad enough, then they will find a way to make it happen. This will cut down on the pressure of making quotas and making it to deadlines that otherwise look and feel unreachable.

Using the internet will usually provide you with 90 percent of all information you will need on any particular subject. Find out a city's income and learn about shopping crazed areas as well as what sells in a particular area. All of these little items can easily be researched online or at a library. It's the little things that can really make a difference for the business.
