How to advertise free while protecting your computer from malicious software

Updated on February 25, 2010

Free advertising online can be dangerous

While free advertising online can be an effective way to get noticed online, free advertising online can also be dangerous for your computer and the information that flows through it. Its time for a change. Its time to get around all of the dangerous codings floating around the internet when trying to become successful internet marketers. There are so many programs out there that work great, but promote the use of malicious codes to those who use the websites. The reason why they do this is unknown, but there is a way to get around this and advertise your business in peace and harmony.

Viral Marketing

With viral marketing, there is no downloading or clicking involved, therefore eliminating all potential threats that could be associated with advertising your business. It can be considered both a paid and a free advertising online method, but the risks of receiving malicious codes is very limited. Some people choose to download their PDF files, while others decide to purchase theirs. Either way, the chances of PDF files being infected by viruses is very unlikely.

Viral marketing is a multiplying method that can generate massive traffic to your website in a short period of time if used correctly. For more information on how to properly use viral marketing and viral reports for free advertising online, visit my Viral Marketing Hub

Automatic Article Submission Software

Automatic article submission software is probably one of the best and most dangerous ways for free advertising online. Not only are you building a large amount of one way backlinks automatically to your website, but you are constantly refreshing websites to submit more articles, which can allow viruses, malware, and other malicious codes to enter your computer when you least expect it. The bad thing about this is, some anti-virus software can't pick up on this activity automatically. That's why its best to have protection.

Article Submission Helper is my favorite article submission software for free advertising online. Although it links to some dangerous websites, the links are still effective in generating traffic. To protect your computer from these dangerous codes, you may want to download Microsoft Virtual PC, free software that lets you create virtual computers inside your computer. This prevents any malicious codes from entering your computer.

If you wish to advertise outside of the virtual computer(s)

There is another virtual software product available out there that will lower the chances of you receiving any viruses. This program works hand and hand alongside Microsoft Virtual PC. Its called Sandboxie. Its not as powerful as the other virtual systems such as Safespace or Bufferzone, but its free and protects your computer against many different types of infections.

Sandboxie should only be used if doing something outside of your virtual computers. You should handle all of your important business outside of your virtual computers because they are sure to be infected with viruses, which can still attack the information within the virtual environment. That's why its good to use Sandboxie as an alternative. (Note: You can always delete Virtual PC stations and recreate more to eliminate all threats)

Toolbar Advertising Programs

The average computer user surfs the internet a lot! This addiction can be used for the better. How this can be is by downloading and utilizing toolbar free advertising online programs. These programs basically pay you advertising points for surfing the internet. You are required to download these toolbars to your web browser though.

Downloading toolbars will not work with Sandboxie, but it can be used inside the virtual environment of Microsoft Virtual PC. Since it will be in a virtual environment, there is no need to worry about the damage that downloading these toolbars can cause. Downloading toolbars for free advertising online can cause your computer security vulnerabilities, but the virtual environment eliminates all of these worries.

Take a look at the video to the right. It shows you how to properly use the program Conduit to create and advertise your website using toolbars.

Classified Ads Free Advertising Online

Its easy to advertise your business with classified ads, but without proper security, it can be difficult to recover your computer from the state it may end up in due to malicious codes. Its a perfect decision to use this free advertising online method within the clutches of Microsoft Virtual PC or Sandboxie because no changes will be able to effect your hard drive. No viruses will be able to reach your computer and all of your information will remain safe.

There is also software that will make the process a lot easier. The software should be downloaded within the virtual environment of your Microsoft Virtual PC to protect yourself from any threats that may emerge from the depths of the internet. The free software is called e-Classifieds. Its said to only work with older versions of Windows, and Unix, but it may work with newer versions of Windows such as XP, Vista, and Windows 7

This is a well-written article. It's really made me nervous. I've got AVG protection. I thought I was pretty safe with that, but I'm not it seems.
