How to create ebooks free

Download Open Office

Open Office Suite is a free alternative to the more expensive Microsoft Office Suite. This free software can do hold its own against the commercial competition (Microsoft Office Suite, Star Office Suite, Etc.). This software has many features to make creating your online business much easier on your behalf. It supports many add ons and programmers are already making new scripts for the software to make your experience even better.

Not only is the Open Office Suite like Microsoft Office Suite, it supports features that Microsoft Office Suite doesn't. This feature is available with Star Office Suite but it can cost money. Open Office Suite has the ability to create PDF files instantly without having to use Adobe Acrobat or an internet connection. All you have to do is select the "export as PDF" option and there you have it, your very own eBook. Now you don't have to download illegal software to get your business needs.

I have Microsoft Office Suite, Star Office Suite, and Open Office Suite. Star Office Suite is my personal favorite, but Open Office has a similar feeling. I believe you will enjoy Open Office Suite as much as I enjoy my Star Office Suite.

Free Templates for Open Office

Just like Microsoft Office Suite, Open Office Suite allows you to edit the appearance of your documents by utilizing scripts called templates. These templates can be found all over the internet if you use the correct search terms to find them. This allows those looking to create more professional looking eBooks to do so.

Here are a few places where you can find these templates free:

  1. http://templates.services.openoffice.org/- This is the official Open Office Suite template service. It delivers the goods and is the best place to get your templates for your program.
  2. http://ezebooktemplates.com/free-templates- Another place for users of the free Open Office Suite to get templates for creating nice looking eBooks. Some (or maybe all) of these templates will also work with Star Office.

How to create free eBook cover for finished product?

Believe it or not, creating an eBook can be 100% free. Everything you do doesn't have to cost you a dime. There are places where you can create your eBook covers for free.

Assuming that you do have Microsoft Office Suite, you can create eBook covers free using Microsoft Word. Read my hub on How to create eBook covers using Microsoft Word and you will figure out how to save money.

For those who do not have the Microsoft Office Suite (seeing as though you are reading on Open Office Suite), you can go to 3d-Pack.com and create your very own eBook covers without having to download any bulky software, and no installations. All that is needed is for you to upload the images to each side of the product. Once you have completed this task, you can turn the image into any direction you wish and select the file type of the image to save it to your computer.

Note: Covers created using 3d-Pack will have logo on it. Try resizing the image to cut out the logo

Thanks for the information. I found the free 3-D ebook cover online creator most helpful. I am writing an ebook and was wondering how to create an image for the 3D book. Thanks again.

Love it! I did put Open Office on my computers last year. I am wanting to create an e-Book, so I will be looking at the 3d-Pack and telling one of my friends who wants to write an eBook also. Informative hub, thanks!

This is a great topic. I've done a short report PDF with OpenOffice, and will be doing a lot more. It's a bit intimidating at first, with so many features, but taking time to learn each will give you a good product. Thank you for so much info.
