How to create your own Affiliate Program

Updated on August 22, 2011

If you're a blogger or someone looking to earn some money on the internet, you'll probably have come across several "Affiliate Programs". From Ebay, passing trough Clickbank or Amazon, there's a little bit for every taste, every niche, everything you can remember.

I'm also seeing several bloggers and companies starting there own affiliate programs. Imagine that you have a computer shop, why not give money to people who bring you customers? If you're in the services area, why not compensate people who recommend you?

imagine the power of your own affiliate program! Without much effort and avoiding the fix costs that full/part-time employee can bring you, it's possible to build up your work force and have several people working for you!

All you need to do is think about the commissions you want to give, and what kind of actions are worth paying. After figuring the whole thing out, you have to allow your affiliates to keep track of their earning. Fortunately there are a few programs available that can help you managing all this, in just few steps.

You can create per click campaigns, by registration or commissions for sales. You have to buy the software to run it, install it and host it at your website server. The costs usually go between 100$ to 400$. I recommend two of them: iDevAffiliate and JROX.

iDevAffiliate

If you work with different affiliate programs you probably have already worked with iDevAffiliate's software. It's one of the most used software's for this kind of program.

The price begins at $99 for one licence for the basic version of the script, and can go till $299.99.

There's several plugins available to optimize this script, being one of the most important ones the SEO Links. The price is $99 and it's not included in the basic version. SEO Links make the links from our affiliates, not only bring visits, but also turn into PageRank.

The iDevlAffiliate is also known as SubmitEdge. You can check it out here at their website.

JROX

Another software that is very popular is JAM from JROX. You also have to buy and install the script.

It also allows to create multi-level affiliate programs and it has several tools for our affiliates, including banners and text links. JAM also allows you to run several affiliate programs with one single script.

The big advantage of JROX is the option of free testing it. You can use the script for free until you reach 50 affiliates. then, you just have to order the script and introduce the code they gave you and everything keeps working as it was before.

But it's a great option for everyone that wants to test it first without spending any money.

The price for buying JAM is $250. Check out JAM from JROX at their website here and tell me what you think.

What do you think?

So, did you liked my suggestions? Do you know other programs? what do you think about this?

I'm testing both right now and I will update this post as I have more news for you. for now, both seems great.
