How to get free traffic 2010 Part 1

Updated on January 1, 2010

Happy New Year's To Internet Marketers

Happy new years everyone. I have a present for you. Here are a couple of techniques to get your New Year's marketing career started.

Example of Title Tag

Proper HTML Structure

Html structure plays a big part in the ranking of your site in the search engines. Knowing the correct techniques could get you listed high within the most popular search engines, giving you the advantage of generating massive traffic over the competition. Best of all, this is free.

TITLE TAG

The title tag defines the title of the document. Whatever the title tag you enter, it will appear in the reverse bar of someone's web browser when they are viewing your web page. If the title happens to be one of your keywords, then it will do great for your website.

Example of Title Tag: Http:www.mysite.com/page/meta.html

META DESCRIPTION TAG

The meta description tags let you influence the information of your web page in the crawlers that support the tags. (info by www.searchenginewatch.com). Basically the meta description tag is a short summary of what your particular web page is about. When people search for something, they usually get the title and a small description of the site. The description is the meta tag

Example of Meta Description Tags

Meta Keyword Tags

Meta keyword tags allow you to add additional text information for search engine crawlers to index along with your body content. A lot of search engine crawlers ignore this but it may come into play when you least expect it. Don't pass up any information that may help you build your rank in the search engines. Only use keywords in the meta keyword tag that are related to the keywords that you are trying to optimize your website on, or else they will be absolutely useless.

Example of Header Tags

H1-H6 TAGS

Most search engines pay close attention to your header tags. Headlines optimize your site as well. H1 being the most important header, H6 being the least important. Its best to start with the most important header and work your way down to the least important. This will help increase your visibility in search engines.

Using Keywords in Hyperlinks

Keywords in hyperlinks help increase search engine rankings. Its a good idea to use keywords when you are linking to internal pages within your website. The search engines view hyperlinks as being important, and having keywords within your hyperlinks will help increase your search engine ranking significantly.

This works even better when the page you are linking to has the same keywords as your hyperlink. As you can see above, the hub I linked to has the same keyword as the hyperlink.

Excellent tips they are often overlooked. I think not very many people know how to get into the code of a website and that is the problem. Oh well, guess it leaves opportunities for those that do.

Following these simple tips for generating free targeted traffic and attract more people to your website does certainly work. I have found the post very informative and helpful. In driving targeted traffic to my website I have also used free google tools to research targeted keywords which I then formatted into question such as “How do I get traffic to my website” and then write a 300 to 450 words article and submit to article directories like ezinearticles. This will drive targeted traffic to your products or services. Thanks again for sharing. You’ll find more information on this subject by visiting How to get free traffic
