Innovative business ideas with low initial investment and high margins

Updated on August 16, 2013

The solution is usually something simple but effective. Any kind of business, even those that seem more strange, can succeed. Put something in your head: there is a market for everything, except for products that already exist. The important thing is always innovation and creativity in what you're doing. Everything depends on you.

Some precautions before taking a decision:

With short capital, the entrepreneur has less margin for error. The entrepreneur should choose a business with which has great identification.
It is essential that the entrepreneur has a reservation and do not apply 100% of the capital in the new business. The suggestion is to ensure money for two to three months - if the plans do not come out as expected.

Right time to invest:

Each type of business has its own cycle of peak demand. For example the final year is a good time to negotiate and search for franchise models, but it is not ideal to invest in, because at the end of the year, people are focused on spending on parties, gifts and vacations.
If your business is in the area of education, for example, demand should be high in the beginning of the school year. Therefore, the ideal is to pay attention at the right time to go into business.

Therapeutic fragrances

Aromatherapy can be an opportunity for new business within the wellness sector. The market on welfare is rising. A growing number of people seeking alternatives to balance the body and mind to reduce day-to-day stress. But if you have affinities with the branch and don't have much capital, you can start a business producing incense, candles, soaps, sachets and other flavorings in your own home, without making large investments.

There is also space for those who want to offer services to companies flavoring environments. The work is to study and map the problems in the environment before defining what type of scent is used. A dentist, for example, can opt for oils whose scents calm patients. For a candy store, a smell that stimulates appetite in customers can be a good idea. There are also substances that prompt increased productivity. But we must beware of possible cases of allergic people.

Sell advertising on bags

There's a pretty simple concept: placing ads on the bags that are produced and then distribute those same bags in shops, taking advantage of the growing concern of companies about the environment.

Technical translation

Technical translation, as it is called, when specialized in some segment (eg. engineering), gains volume and requires skilled staff and may be practiced in the home office system.

Rent videos through pen-drives

The use of DVD's to watch a movie is increasingly disappearing. Thus came the innovative idea of renting your videos via a USB drive. The way it works is quite simple. The user downloads the movie and pays it going with a password to watch it on their computer or TV if it has USB input. The distribution may be made, for example, by type ATM machine.

Making jewelry

The internet proves to be a great ally in this segment since, in addition to free online advertising (blogs, social networks and fotologs), you can register on sites specialized in selling handicrafts.

Another area of business, in addition to fairs and the internet, are the stores that buy parts from artisans for purposes of resale.

Sell trees on the internet

Your company could sell trees on the internet as a present. Yes you read that right: internet trees. But the company is not only about trees, it can sell roses or fruits. The company should always be sustainable, based on environmentally friendly products and planting trees as the selling thrive. It takes two things for this company to work: a greenhouse and a website.

Image Consulting

The "image is everything". With this new spirit into force, a profession before operated informally - by the opinions of friends - is gaining ground and legitimacy in the market: the image consultant.

Is not enough just to understand fashion to work as an image consultant: a thorough job is done and customized, based on the measures, in tastes, history and lifestyle of each person. There for is recommended to do a good specialist course.

Sometimes we start a business thinking of doing a particular job, but ended up receiving offers somewhat different from what we imagined. My advice is to enjoy this kind of situations, since you enjoy what you're doing, obviously. These adjustments to the new requirements are something that should be in the DNA of any entrepreneur.

Starting a business is easy; creating a successful and profitable business is extremely difficult, since a business has to be sustainable to be profitable, as you can read here: Business development ideas.

The major motivating factor is that is available to anyone, i.e., anyone can create a profitable business as you can read in this hub: How to create a profitable business.

As with everything else in life, in business you also need luck. However you need to know to take the opportunity and be differentiated and innovative.

Sounds like some good advice. I believe that creating useful websites for people is another industry that requires almost zero investment and is a service that will probably be in demand for quite a few years to come. I appreciate your research and willingness to share this information. Great hub!

My sister sells her home made lamp work beads through shows and follows up by letting her customers buy on line. She does a great business as her work is very unique. There are lots of ways to earn on line and a combination of on-line and off-line ways. Great article

The advertising on the shopping carts and on the bathroom doors has become a big business. Someone in the suburbs of Chicago tried a free newspaper of quotes with an emphasis upon local advertisement but print is hard. The brick and mortar advertising works well in the super markets and the movie house doors.

I don't know what is the most profitable - certainly not writing because the market is shifting all the time and is in my opinion overly populated. But I just received my first check from Amazon so I am not complaining!
